Summary
Ever since he became a Christian at the age of forty, it has been Poirot actor David Suchet's dream to make an audio recording of the whole Bible. In between filming the final episodes of Poirot, David Suchet spent over 200 hours in the recording studio to create the very first full-length audio version of the NIV Bible spoken by a single British actor.
Volume 2 of the NIV Audio Bible includes the Prophets, Gospels, Acts and Letters, covering the books of Isaiah to Revelation.

NIV AUDIO BIBLE
Just finished listening to this volume of David Suchet NIV Bible it was brilliant he narrated it beautifully. I ve just founded out he's got other things out so I'm going to look at them

A wonderful, powerful performance
Much of the Bible was meant to be heard rather than read and this audio version brings to life much which is almost impenetrable in the written word. I have listened to this many times and would highly recommend.

A humbling privilege to hear.
David Suchet narrates the Bible in such an inspiring and engaging manner. His voice leads you into the words so that you really want to listen to the message of the Bible. I even could engage with Revelations in a new way!

Great publication with one GLARING error

This is beautifully read by Suchet. His voice is absolutely right for the part.

Flows and is good to listen to in the car, headphones or as part of devotional.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Absolutely not. Only someone completely unfamiliar with the bible could ask this question. the bible was not meant to be read from cover to cover, and here lies the error - there is no index, so it is not possible to find an individual book, chapel or verse.
Any additional comments?
Whichever numpty put this together obviously was not familiar with the way that a Christian reader would approach the bible. Strange because this is probably the market for it? COME ON NIV - give us an index or ability to go to an individual book and chapter.

Great reading - and an index!
What did you like most about Complete NIV Audio Bible?
I have a couple of other Audible Bibles and this is by far the best. David Suchet is a great reader. In addition, there is no background music, which is a surprisingly big bonus. When listening to the Bible with music in the background, it quickly feels very repetitive. Probably the best bit of this audio Bible is that the chapters match the chapters in the books and there is an index document provided. In the past, I have spent ages trying to find a particular passage in other audio Bibles. Now it's easy!
What about David Suchet’s performance did you like?
David Suchet has a wonderful reading voice and the reading is unhurried and clear. You can (if you want) listen at double speed and it is still clear. Perhaps it could become soporific, but that's not always a bad thing!

If you are an Audible Member with a monthly plan and you buy using credits, make sure you buy the two half Bibles (2 credits) rather than the 8 smaller sections (8 credits).

Great for walking the dog!
Where does Complete NIV Audio Bible rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Good performance from David Suchet, easy listening.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Complete NIV Audio Bible?
Although I have needed to put in the bookmarks for the books manually, now that that is done, it is easy to navigate to chapter 1 of each book, although you could easily bookmark every 5th book.
Which character – as performed by David Suchet – was your favourite?
Impossible to say, given that it is the Bible. I used to listen to the bible through my bible app but it required a data connection, so having this downloaded makes for easy listening.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No. I have been doing HTBs BIOY app, but sometimes I get behind and need to catchup, listening as I drive, run or walk the dog. Also listening and then reading through helps me to focus and reflect on what I am reading.
