Summary
Humans and robots went to war. The robots won.
When machine 387 powers on, it's evident how much that victory cost. Its circuitry is wired together with human nerves: a biological hot-patch to cope with dwindling resources. However, the solution leaves non-robotic flaws in 387's computer. Machines shouldn't have emotions, much less memories.
When 387's robotic bring them face-to-face with their past life, they are forced to reconcile their cyborg nature. Where does the machine end and the human spirit begin?
