Summary
The past will always find you. A woman is found brutally murdered in a sordid Atlanta apartment. Her blood-soaked body bears a startling similarity to a woman found dead almost 40 years earlier. Soon Special Agent Will Trent finds himself returning to the home he grew up in - and a past that could hold the clue to the killings.…

half decent overall
narration was a bit irritating - the southern accent & excessive emphasis on every sentence, no matter whether significant or incidental.
Found the story a little difficult to follow at first, and the characters hard to identify. But it suddenly picked up pace in the second half

Just Awesome !!!
I loved this story right from the start. The intreaging characters, excellent use of humour, and riveting storyline, all wrapped up in mystery and suspense. Karin Slaughter is a genius author, and has excelled herself yet again.
As always the narration was awesome, much admiration goes to Jennifer Woodward, whose voice I could listen to all day.
All in all, this was a real pleasure to listen to, and I would highly recommend to anyone who loves a gritty drama, with a rollercoaster of romance and emotional bindings. Fabulous!

Gripping read; brilliant as usual
I have thoroughly enjoyed all of Karin Slaughter's books and this Will Trent story is no exception. The characters are well written and we get some more answers about Will's past. Brilliantly written in two time periods, it tracks the mirrored cases that have quite an impact. It's great to get the next chapter in Sarah and Will's story as well as filling in some blanks and simply being another gripping crime thriller.

Criminal
This is the first Karin Slaughter book I have read. I wasn’t disappointed. I normally read James Patterson but was looking for a new author. The plot was exciting from start to finish. I will have to get the rest of the Will Trent series of books and hope they are all as brilliant as this one.

Few twists
This story jumps between 2 different timelines, so if you aren’t paying attention you could get lost.
The narrator was fantastic.
The descriptions of Atlanta in the 70s and currently built the atmosphere.
Loved it
