About this listen
C H Clepitt has a knack for creating real, relatable characters who face adversity with humor and humanity, and Curtain Call is no exception.
When an assistant to the director role turns into PA to her favourite film star, Jen can’t believe her luck. Eleanor Francis is charming, kind, and funny, but she has a secret, and when tragedy strikes, things threaten to unravel at an uncontrollable pace. Despite being out of her depth, Jen has to adapt to her new role quickly, to protect Eleanor, with whom she is rapidly falling in love.
This is a sweet, understated story that will have you laughing and crying in equal measure. If you’ve enjoyed C H Clepitt’s other books then this is not to be missed.

short
it's a good story but only a novella, could have been so much more.

Brilliant 5 star audio book
Yet another brilliant audio book by CH Clepitt.
I was lucky enough to have read this book when it was only a short story and the n once it has been expanded into this novella.
When I read the original story I thought it was great but felt a bit rushed due to the word limit. Now it has been expanded the pace has slowed down and it is a much better story.
The story follows Jen as she starts her new job at a theatre. She thinks she is going to be working behind the scenes but when she turns up to work is thrown in at the deep end by being made to be the star actress' PA and help her in whatever way she can. The trouble is the actress in question is one she loves and one of her films helped Jen come out to her family.
As the story progresses they fall in love, made tricky by the fact that the actress is having an affair with her agent and gets even trickier further on.
The story is very well written and flows nicely. I also feel that Claire deals with the issues in the book very delicately and I really enjoyed it
