Summary

From the creator of PERCY JACKSON, bestselling author Rick Riordan, comes a brand-new adventure, inspired by Jules Verne's Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea.

Ana Dakkar is a freshman at Harding-Pencroft Academy, a five-year high school that graduates the best marine scientists, naval warriors, navigators, and underwater explorers in the world. Ana's parents died while on a scientific expedition two years ago, and the only family's she's got left is her older brother, Dev, also a student at HP. Ana's freshman year culminates with the class's weekend trial at sea, the details of which have been kept secret. She only hopes she has what it'll take to succeed. All her worries are blown out of the water when, on the bus ride to the ship, Ana and her schoolmates witness a terrible tragedy that will change the trajectory of their lives.

But wait, there's more. The professor accompanying them informs Ana that their rival school, Land Institute, and Harding-Pencroft have been fighting a cold war for a hundred and fifty years. But now the heat is on and the freshman are in danger of becoming fish food. In a race against deadly enemies, Ana will make amazing friends and astounding discoveries about her heritage as she puts her leadership skills to the test for the first time.

Rick Riordan's trademark humour, fast-paced action, and wide cast of characters are on full display in this undersea adventure.

Rick Riordan has now sold an incredible 60 million copies of his books worldwide.

One of the best

I loved it because I have always felt a connection with the sea and the main character is a girl. I like how he wrote the story line based around water, and tech evolution.

Well done Rick

Really good book again from Rick Riordan, very emotional and really sucks you into the world.
As ever Rick takes an older story and uses that as a base line to create a brilliant story from
Great narrator and I loved the music that really engaged you as much as the words
Really happy and would recommend this

Looking forward to the next book

I have had most of the series from Rick Riordan books as audible books and this book is at least top 3 for me and maybe even the best book so far but I will leave that judgement to after my second read through. Because there are many books that can be great the first time you read it but only the truly great books will still be great after reading it more then once.

Love the story, don't really like the music

As always, the story line and the writing is awesome. I even likes the reader, but the music wasn't for me. It wasn't bad enough to put me off, and I can sort of see how it would appeal for the younger audience (I'm 25), but didn't do much for me.
