A really good story!

So I really enjoyed this book and actually would quite like to know what happens next - although I understand that there is no sequel. But, by the end of the book I was pretty fed up with the main character. He was such wet blanket, so much of the plot came from him being inept, constantly loosing his car keys, not checking his email when there were limited forms of communication. But, nonetheless I did want to get to the end.

Where is book 2

It’s been 4 years since book 1 was completed but without a sequel? Story line is very good and characters will resonate with the majority of people who are not survivalists.

A very believable storyline

A non-hero everyman becomes hero enough to overcome a survivalist 'event'. Well told and with advice. Very easy to imagine it could happen like this.

A relatable story

The whole story felt very relatable raising questions about how much I would be unprepared for any future disasters. Clearly I learned nothing from Covid and seeing the world in chaos and denial.

Here the characters feel very real and the narrator gave each character depth. Really enjoyed it and will continue listening to more!

Follow Jim in his preparations for the event.

Well written although a bit predictable. Very much in need of a follow up book.

Bad grammar, but the story is pretty good

“Laying” instead of “lying” and similar grammar mistakes, but the story is pretty good. Lots of the characters are so stupid they are unrealistic though. The narrator does a decent job,

Warning - graphic and gratuitous dog torture scene!

The story was enjoyable until the utterly unncessary and sickeningly graphic scene describing a dog being tortured. You've got to wonder what kind of mind could imagine this detail, let alone think it was a good idea to write it down.
