About this listen
Georgia’s life has finally settled down. Or so she thought. She couldn’t be more wrong.
Georgia Rae Winston’s life in the farming community of Wildcat Springs, Indiana, has found a nice, quiet rhythm. She’s dating Detective Cal Perkins, and everyone predicts wedding bells - if only Cal weren’t so consumed with work.
But then Clara Alspaugh, the town prodigal, comes home after 38 years. She just so happens to be the woman who broke Georgia’s dad’s heart back in high school.
The night she returns, Clara’s mother is killed during a break-in gone wrong. The scenario is eerily similar to Georgia’s father’s murder nine and a half years earlier, and Georgia suspects there are lies from the past someone doesn’t want unearthed.
Georgia can’t get a straight answer from Clara about what really happened in high school and why she left for so many years. When Georgia digs deeper and starts asking questions around town, she discovers people will do anything to keep their dark secrets buried. Even murder.
And Georgia has risen to the top of the hit list.

Delightful mystery
I enjoyed this book. This is book three and Georgia Rae Winston finally gets the closure she needs, I just loved the way this story plays out and both a recent and a cold case gets solved. You don't need to have listened to the other books in the series to enjoy this one but I think if you know the background and the characters it helps the previous books come to a conclusion. The characters are well rounded and I think the good friendship and family dynamics comes across well, as well as the mystery of who is the right man for her. The mystery it's self worked well and led you on a merry chase as to who the killer was. Another great book in a fun and enjoyable series.
With her grandfather's wedding fast approaching the last thing Georgia was expecting to be doing was investigating a friends murder. But when her neighbour is killed by burglars on the very night her daughters returns after years a absence, Georgia doesn't but the robbery gone wrong explanation. Could her own daughter have killed her mother? And if so which one? The one that has been away for years and holds a secret? Or the one that stuck around during her mother's cancer battle and now finds out her inheritance has been cut in half? Or is it someone a lot closer to home? Like her grandfather's new bride? Working on the case can Georgia find out the truth about what happened to make a young girl leave town right after prom night, the night she was meant to be going out with Georgia's dad. A farmer is use to digging in the mud but can this farmer dig up long buried secrets?
I like the narrator and think her voice goes a long way to helping this series to be so great because she makes it so easy to picture the story unfolded in your mind.
