Wonderful story and narration!

Another heartwarming story by Rowan Colman!
Started a bit slow for me but I was swept away soon enough and fell in love with the characters. The narration was brilliant. Really enjoyed it!

Absolutely loved this book!

A must read especially for survivors of DV, to realise that life can begin again! I laughed and cried throughout and loved the characters, so well portrayed by one of the best narrators I've listened to.

Yet another great and compelling story and beautifully written. It was a little slow at the start but worth the wait.

Wonderful book

Couldn't put it down, so to speak. A story of courage, reconnection and love. Beautifully told and beautifully read. Expect to need tissues and to laugh out loud. 💜

Great book, excellent performance

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This book is intelligent and enjoyable. It deals with a delicate subject (domestic abuse) but it is not a heavy read. The character are well developed and the reader gets a real insight of the situation and the reactions (sometimes difficult to understand from an outsider point of view) of how domestic violence can settled itself in a couple. But it is first and foremost the story of a person who gets herself out of this vicious cycle and rebuild herself without never be cheesy. It is an excellent read and a good balance between serious matters and good reading material. The performance by Anne Dover is perfect, as usual.

My first audible. A great book ....

.... and my first book by Rowan Coleman. I started out just listening in the car when driving and then got hooked so listened when cooking and even when getting dressed in the morning. A lovely story.

Great story and characters

I found moments in this book so moving and thought provoking. I work with many women who experience domestic abuse and violence as I did nearly 30 years ago. There is acknowledgment of the struggle to find safety, the risk of leaving, and the strength it takes to start a different chapter of life. There are lives damaged by loss,, grief and misunderstanding but in contrast there is forgiveness, friendship, love, courage and happiness. Loved the book
