About this listen

'Ross Greenwood doesn’t write clichés. What he has written here is a fast-paced, action-filled puzzle with believable characters that's spiced with a lot of humour' Kath Middleton

Some secrets refuse to stay buried...

When Alfie Hook settles down to eat his fish and chips by the Hunstanton seaside he hasn’t anticipated it is going to be his last meal. DS Ashley Knight and her Major Investigation Team are called to investigate and when they discover who Alfie is married to, they realise this case is not going to be straightforward.

A second body is found in gruesome circumstances at the nearby Paradise Caravan Park, but the team struggle to connect the two victims. Even after hours of interviews with the residents, and many questionable stories, to the police's frustration, all their alibis check out. What are they concealing?

As the bodies mount up and the leads get ever more complicated, Ashley and her rookie partner Hector Fade finally join the dots. But then it’s a race against time to stop the killer striking again…

Bestselling Ross Greenwood is back with an unputdownable seaside thriller, perfect for fans of Mark Billingham, Ian Rankin and Peter James.

'Move over Rebus and Morse; a new entry has joined the list of great crime investigators in the form of Detective Inspector John Barton. A rich cast of characters and an explosive plot kept me turning the pages until the final dramatic twist' Richard Burke

Excellent follow up

Twisty and turny storyline that kept me guessing to the end. David Thorpe is brilliant.

loved it

I love all of Ross Greenwood's books and am going through them all. This one is not as heavy as some of them, so made a nice change

keeps you guessing.

this is the second Ross Greenwood book I've listened to, and I can say that they are well written, not the obvious outcome, they kepte guessing until the conclusion. Beautifully narrated. likeable characters, with enough back story, to help you care about them, but not so much that it overpowers the storyline. I would highly recommend this series.

Good story

I like these books and the narration of them.
Most enjoyable as the storyline keeps you guessing and you get involved with the charades they are down to earth.

Satisfying and clever plot

Excellent and skilful narration made the many and well defined characters distinguishable and animated. Accents convincing and sustained. Plot complex with enough red herrings to sink a trawler. Now I have a whim to visit Cromer and see those sunsets whilst stepping over the bodies

Good listen

I loved Death on Cromer Beach and was really looking forward to this one. Overall, a good book and brilliantly narrated with some good twists and turns to the plot. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it started to feel a bit drawn out and lacked the normal pace. Definitely worth a listen though, it’s a good follow up to the first in the series, and I’ll be listening to the next instalment when it’s released.
