Summary
Puffin presents the unabridged downloadable audiobook addition of Demigods and Magicians, written and read by Rick Riordan.
Magic meets mythology in this explosive trilogy of short stories from Rick Riordan.
When a mysterious magical disturbance draws magicians Carter and Sadie Kane to New York, they meet another pair of kids with abilities as incredible as their own: Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase!
And it's no coincidence that they've all been drawn to the Big Apple. A crazed sorcerer, Setne, is stirring up double trouble, unleashing dangerous creatures from both Greek and Egyptian myth.
With Setne determined to devour the gods themselves to obtain the gift of immortality, demigods and magicians must combine their powers to stop him before it's too late....
Features the three short stories 'The Son of Sobek', 'The Staff of Serapis' and 'The Crown of Ptolemy'.

Amazing book but could be longer
I really enjoyed listening to this audio book and it was a pleasurable way to finish of a day and one of the best crossover books I have ever read (listened to) but alas, it was much shorter than many other books and I would love more but I would recommend this book to anyone who likes fantasy books and has read the other books in the Percy Jackson universe. Overall a good book.

Much enjoyed mash-up
My boys (aged 11 and 9) have both read bits of the Kane / Percy Jackson series. They really enjoyed listening to the two worlds collide - although it has to be said, they liked the story that involved the boys best, rather than the one where the two sisters meet (obvs!).
These short stories are basically setting the scene for a mash-up 3 book series, and I for one would be happy to get it for the boys. Good clear narration, mild peril, interesting historical facts and (for once) a not-too-clever boy in the lead. Which is nice.

A natural progression to combining great charature
we really loved these stories, two worlds, four heroes ..complementary in attitude and ability, doing what comes naturally. We would love to see the Kane Chronicles and these stories on the big screen or Amazon fire. We love the history combined with great story telling. A pleasure to listen to, read and watch. Thank-you Rick for giving my son a passion about Egypt and Greek mythology. Gods, monsters, mystery and combat, the stuff of legends xx
