About this listen
From visionary Silicon Valley entrepreneur Tom Siebel comes a penetrating examination of the new technologies that are disrupting business and government - and how organizations can harness them to transform into digital enterprises.
The confluence of four technologies - elastic cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence, and the internet of things - writes Siebel, is fundamentally changing how business and government will operate in the 21st century.
Siebel masterfully guides listeners through a fascinating discussion of the game-changing technologies driving digital transformation and provides a roadmap to seize them as a strategic opportunity. He shows how leading enterprises such as Enel, 3M, Royal Dutch Shell, the US Department of Defense, and others are applying AI and IoT with stunning results.
Digital Transformation is the guidebook every business and government leader needs to survive and thrive in the new digital age.

It's a good book for beginners.
I really like this book, thus a bit conflicted about writing this review. A quick summary would sound like this: It is a good book for beginners and people who do not know what Digital Transformation is. The title suggests an answer on how to survive and thrive in the digital era and is written by Mr.Siebel! Naturally, my expectation was to learn something that would really give an unfair advantage to the reader on how to thrive in this digital era. So it is 7/10 at best for me. Your mileage may vary.
Some of the examples and stories shared here were really interesting. If only Mr.Siebel would actually share details on how some of the better digital transformations were achieved. Wins and pitfalls and compare it with what would it have looked like if they chose a different tool or approach. Not to mention there was no detailed comparison of tools, systems architecture or even delivery frameworks.
In the end this is a good book for beginners, however no details or reference materials for someone who would be keen to get to the details. Good high-level overview without the Know-How. If this book had included at least some Know-How with a competitive edge for the reader - this could have been a best seller.

Interesting listen ruined by the narrator
An interesting introduction to various elements of digital transformation from a leadership perspective. However, the author narrates at a snail's pace, pauses for too long and inspires sleep. It is the worst narration I've ever heard. This issue can be alleviated by listening at 1.75x speed, but even then his voice is still not suitable for the content.

Extremely informative with lots of good data points
If you’re wanting some evidence based information around data science and digital transformation this is definitely the book for you. I have taken a lot from it and will be implementing as much as I can in my current workplace.

Great content, very poor narrator
It’s frustrating listening to great and inspiring content, when the tone of the narrators voice is irritating you - I’m so sorry, but this voice and uninspiring performance is not suitable for an international audience.

Dissapointing - I struggle to find any value in it
As a digital transformation practitioner I found no valuable information in this book. Loads of buzz words and technical terms that without a depth and right context make little sense. In my view author struggled to decide about the right audience for this book. So it seems it is not aimed at IT pros - ok. But then who? Executives? No because the book does not say how to drive DT in organisations and speaks none of not-tech challenges. It certainly is not a guide about DT nor this is a story about transformation that would inspire to action. For total noobies there is too much technological considerations and specific tech mentions to make the content easy to understand. It is hard to recommend this to any type of audience, and for me the book turned to be a waste of time.

A combination of hype and vague advice
Somehow digital transformation is jus as big of an impact to the world and a mass extinction?
Once you get on board with this idea you then get a series of occasionally helpful but mostly vague tips about how to do it in you company, with a finish of “hire me and my consulting firm to tell you the rest”.
