About this listen
Labels, Labels Labels! They can be helpful when shopping for clothes and food, but on people can be a little restrictive. Given to us by society, given to us by family, or even social media - what do any of them actually mean? And how far do they go in defining who we really are?
Two black British millennials, Lady T and Tobi Rachel, explore labels and identity in conversation with someone they’ve admired from afar for years. Adjoa Andoh is a star of stage and screen. With roles ranging from Doctor Who and Richard II to Bridgerton in a career spanning several decades, Adjoa is a force to be reckoned with.
Over three chapters they dig into her West Country beginnings, her artistic success and her faith. With the help of contributors who will all share an aspect of Adjoa's life, each chapter will look to expand the boxes that society attempts to squeeze her into.

Educational and soulful
I listened to this to learn more about the challenges people of colour face and to understand the correct language to use. I grew up in a village where there were a number only 2 mixed race kids in our school, both were in my year. I then moved to Chester where the society isn’t as diverse as other cities. I found this podcast really interesting and helpful. The woman were extremely articulate. The different ‘labels’ they discussed were relatable for any woman but told from their perspective. More please.

Taken on a wonderfully funny, poignant, politically charged journey which will continue after the close of the interview.

What raw and uplifting conversations
I absolutely loved this from start to finish. We meandered through racism, identity, fame, faith, history… so many discussions and all of them reminding me that each of us has our own story to share, our own path to chart and the choices we make about what takes us to our dreams makes all the difference. Adjoa is such a phenomenal being.
