About this listen
It is a week since the outbreak began in New York. The president has been betrayed. The vice-president is dead. The conspirators are close to victory.
Having narrowly escaped agents of the cabal, Tom Clemens heads to Washington in the hope of warning the president, but it is too late. The highways are impassable, filled with millions fleeing from the cities. As refugees storm the towns, and zombies fill the smoking ruins, survivors become more deadly a threat than the impossibly living dead. Still hopeful he can find the cause of the outbreak and so end it, Tom fights his way through an undead America, unaware that the cabal are searching for him.
From Surviving the Evacuation, this is the second part of Sholto's escape from a collapsing United States.

Solid fun
Good story, fun continuation of the series, bit of an abrupt ending but the conspiracy keeps you in suspense throughout

absolutely fantastic
second time round on this series. read the books last year but decided to listen to them on audio now as I enjoyed them so much the first time. cannot fault these books or this writer. listening on audible really brings it all to life! ! one note to the writer if criticism tho only tiny. for a man so secretive and cagey why would he suddenly fess up the whole story to the girl with all the holden just after meeting her and without even being asked and why would she be the least bit interested or even believe him. bit of a lot down there but soon forgotten as the action begins once again and yet again I couldn't put it down. love this series. where is the film! !
