Do You Feel Like I Do? is the incredible story of Peter Frampton's positively resilient life and career told in his own words for the first time. His monu-mental album Frampton Comes Alive! spawned three top-20 singles and sold eight million copies the year it was released (more than 17 million to date), and it was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in January 2020.
Frampton was on a path to stardom from an early age, first as the lead singer and guitarist of the Herd and then as cofounder - along with Steve Marriott - of one of the first supergroups, Humble Pie. Frampton was part of a tight-knit collective of British '60s musicians with close ties to the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, and the Who. This led to Frampton playing on George Harrison's solo debut, All Things Must Pass, as well as to Ringo Starr and Billy Preston appearing on Frampton's own solo debut. By age 22, Frampton was touring incessantly and finding new sounds with the talk box, which would become his signature guitar effect.
Frampton remembers his enduring friendship with David Bowie. Growing up as schoolmates, crossing paths throughout their careers, and playing together on the Glass Spider Tour, the two developed an unshakable bond. Frampton also shares fascinating stories of his collaborative work with Harry Nilsson, Stevie Wonder, B. B. King, and members of Pearl Jam. He reveals both the blessing and curse of Frampton Comes Alive!, opening up about becoming the cover boy he never wanted to be, his overcoming substance abuse, and how he has continued to play and pour his heart into his music despite an inflammatory muscle disease and his retirement from the road.
Peppered throughout his narrative is the story of his favorite guitar, the Phenix, which he thought he'd lost in a fiery plane crash in 1980. But in 2011, it mysteriously showed up again - saved from the wreckage. Frampton tells of that unlikely reunion here in full for the first time, and why the miraculous reappearance is emblematic of his life and career as a quintessential artist.

What a read. Fabulous and always humble throughout. A fairytale with the phenix return. So many great tributes to fellow musicians especially Bowie. Love the music and the life story.

A humble rock legend
Fantastic story told by Peter in such a calm involved manner it draws you in throughout his rollercoaster life story. Superbly written and read from one of the real nice guys of rock guitar musicians.

Frampton comes alive on audio.
Peter's roller coaster ride to the very heights of fame and adulation to the depths of despair are read with humour by the very man himself. from his struggles with drink, drugs,financial ruin and ailing health,nothing is left out but the man's optimistic outlook and dogged determination win the day and you are left liking this hugely talented guitarist and songwriter very much.

Entertaining and interesting
I’ve long been a Frampton fan, going back to his days with The Herd and Humble Pie. I was delighted to find he’s written his story and the bonus of the audible version is that he narrates as well. He has an easy listening voice; he tells the story as if he’s sitting nearby reminiscing and I find it not only interesting but very relaxing.
Loved the prologue with his tale of troubles in Panama. It’s the stuff of legend! Thereafter, it’s linear with stories about his early childhood and secondary schooling where he was friendly with Bowie. He provides a lot of insight into the music industry, recording, writing, playing and added to that, he gives an often difficult account of his personal life. This story feels honest, it’s packed with names and although I’m not quite finished, it’s up there with similar bios by Keith Richard and Patti Smith. Highly recommended.

A deeply joyful read.
Peter Framptom reads his memoirs very well indeed. He's telling us his incredible story with feeling, passion, humour, regret. The full spectrum of human emotions, and it's clear to see from his career that he has an ability to draw people together, creating a family vibe through his music and personality and that shines through in this audio book.
He takes us on a journey from his early childhood and family situation, through his early musical adventures, to making an impression on influencial movers and shakers in the music industry at such a young age, he was just 19 yrs old when Humble pie were rocking the world, and eventually his hitting the big time with a world record selling live album and how that affected him and his relationships and his confidence and career.
Towards the end of the book he does talk about the autoimmune disease IBM that has affected his abilities, and how he's adapting to new challenges. It's all here, warts 'n all, the lows and the highs, the marvelous adventure that he's living and sharing.

A survivor
Having been a Frampton fan since D1975, i saw him live in 76 at Wembley , i was curious as he always seemed to me to be a nice guy. Sure enough this book proves that that is indeed the case, read in a warm and affable manner Petertakes us through the ups and downs of his long career which seems tohave had if anything. Ore downs than ups. He name drops all the time but its done in context and at no time do you think of him as big headed!.
I was interested to,hear he is a gear nerd as well !
If you have a copy of Frampton Comes Alive ( and who doesnt?) this will be of interest to you
I thoroughly recommend this book, its great!

Really enjoyed thank you Peter
Really enjoyed the fact that Peter is reading it, a crazy life story told by the man himself. Felt like I got to meet my hero and he didn’t let me down. Plus while listening I cleaned my flat so I’m in my girlfriends good books now. 10 out of 10
