Summary

A juicy, powerful listen featuring twin sisters who have drifted apart and the shocking family secrets that bind them....

Robin and Sarah weren't the closest of twins. They weren't even that similar. But they loved each other dearly. Until, in the cruellest of domestic twists, they were taken from one another.

Now in her early 30s, Robin lives alone. Agoraphobic and suffering from panic attacks, she spends her days pacing the rooms of her house. The rest of the time she watches - watches the street, the houses, the neighbours. Until one day she sees something she shouldn't...

And Sarah? Sarah got what she wanted - the good-looking man, the beautiful baby, the perfect home. But she's just been accused of the most terrible thing of all. She can't be around her new family until she has come to terms with something that happened a long time ago. And to do that, she needs to track down her twin sister. But Sarah isn't the only person looking for Robin. As their paths intersect, something dangerous is set in motion, leading Robin and Sarah to fight for much more than their relationship....

Very very good

I liked the way the author structured this story. Going back & forth chronologically seems very popular; this author used going back & forth in a very well constructed way/ format. Cleverly It kept the story unfolding so I was always wondering what would happen next; how the past fitted in to the present scenario. Also I thought it clever the way she unfurled 1 character's part of the story in the 3rd person, & another's in the 1st person. You knew in the end it had to be that way. I'll definitely read another of her books. Very much better than the Girl on the Train thriller -& very different. Narrators were excellent- really bought the story a personal touch & brought it to life.

Not my thing!

This is one of the worst books I have read on kindle and listened to on Audible! A dreadful mishmash of two dysfunctional families, child abuse and mental health issues. The author appeared to be trying to weave all three together and succeeded in not really addressing any. I persevered because I hate giving up on a book and I hoped it would improve. Unfortunately it did not!

Another page turner from Holly Seddon

I enjoyed this just as much as Holly's debut novel, it's a story that draws you in and I can't wait for the next book if it maintains the high standards of the first two. The story starts slowly, but reveals enough to make you want to continue listening whilst you try and figure out what the conclusion might be. It ends with a roller coaster that I doubt you'll be expecting. I drove home slowly at the end of the book just you ensure I finished it. A great psychological thriller.

A cut above

As someone who listens to many audiobooks, I consider this one better than most. It held my interest throughout and nights when I just could not turn off. I liked the way it was presented and did not get confused by different times and different voices. And there were couple killer twists I did not see coming. Well done.

Takes a while to get going, but bear with it.

The story was slow going at first, the narrative is at pains to include dated references from the past which the last book did too - I don't think this is needed at all and is a bit irritating to listen to but to each their own.
The story builds better and with more momentum from about halfway through, the first half is too drawn out to be believable but stick with it.
Overall not a bad listen.

A bit dull

A very drawn out story that has an interesting twist at the end, but not worthy of the hours of dullness to get there.

Very good

I really loved the way this is written. It’s done in a past present format which shows how their past experiences influence their current actions.

Very readable.

This was surprising good. Sympathised with both twins, and the poor mother.
Good story with lots is different turns to surprise, recommended
