Summary

Demetrius Cade has long since let go of his prejudice against Morgonkind, the dragon hybrid race his father taught him to hate. But what he never saw coming was the Morgon woman who would finally teach him to love.

Shakara Icewing has watched Demetrius Cade from afar for years. Known as the most eligible bachelor and emotionally unavailable in all of Gladium Province, she sees him as the aloof, arrogant brother of her dear friend. But when they finally meet, she isn’t sure she can handle how deep and how fast they both fall.

An old enemy resurfaces and once more threatens those Demetrius loves. When Shakara plans to speak before Parliament against business tycoon Aron Grayson, she puts her own life in the line of fire. Demetrius will stop at nothing to protect the woman he can no longer live without.

Interesting Start to the Series

I wanted to like this story and for the most part I did. The dialogue is a little stilted and the female narrator extended that somewhat which worries me for book 1 which is wholly narrated by the same lady. It won’t stop me from listening as I really want to hear where this story goes.

Boring

I normally love Juliette's prn romance but this one fell flat for me, maybe I was in the wrong mood to really appreciate it. It was a little dinner at times and had some political discusses that could be compared to current events. The spice was sparse and tedious. and I felt the main couple had no chemistry.
The narration was good.
It's free on ku and audible plus catalogue too. Because they are both included in the subscription they don't sync 😵😤😭.

Couldn't stand the female narrator

I was very intrigued by the plot and was quite excited when I started listening. Aiden Snow was great but unfortunately the female narrator completely ruined the experience. I couldn't get through a single chapter. The fact that the next book is narrated by her only meant I decided to give up before I got too invested in the story.
