Summary

The magnificent sequel to the worldwide best seller Duncton Wood.

When Tryfan, son of Bracken and Rebecca, returns to the sacred Burrows of Uffington, he finds dreadful signs of death and destruction. For out of the chilly North have swarmed the grikes, a fanatical tribe of warrior moles bent on destroying all believers in the powers of the Stone. Tryfan’s duty is clear - to muster and protect the few remaining Stone followers from the evil that seems certain to engulf them. With only a frail and timid mole named Spindle for company, he sets off on an epic journey...but can he save his friends?

The gripping second instalment of the multimillion copy best-selling fantasy series The Duncton Chronicles, for listeners of Terry Brooks and Jean M. Auel.

Six stars!

I only gave Duncton Quest 5 stars because 6 stars wasn’t available. I’m emotionally exhausted after finishing the second book in the series and am going to need a break before the next instalment. A truly wonderful story, beautifully read.

Genius

I read the Duncton Chronicles over 25 years ago & thoroughly enjoyed the stories, William Horwood is one of the most creative & poetic authors I’ve read, his books are masterpieces.
Listening to his work read by one person whose responsibility was the creation of characters I thought I knew personally made me a little anxious, as I’d been very disappointed with other authors’ epics.
Gareth Armstrong has produced Moledom with colour and love, humility, courage & compassion. I love Mayweed, always did but now he’s taken on a new molenailty altogether 😊
You’ll feel the Sussex earth beneath your feet, smell the Yorkshire rain and yearn to look up at Tryfan’s rocky summit- the journey is one which far outstretches the medium of moles.
5 stars are not enough.

An excellent follow up

The Duncton Chronicles are one of the very few books I've read multiple times.

The story line is engaging and the Audible narration is first class - I can't recommend these books enough.

Here's looking forward to the final three books in the six book series...
