About this listen
An exciting book for Easter! This is Christian inspiration at its finest. Maria Alvarez reflects on the meaning of Easter via poetry and prose. Miss Alvarez is different from many other Christian writers who write about Easter in that she focuses on the importance of the suffering and death of Christ rather than dwelling primarily on the resurrection.
While arguing that the resurrection of Jesus Christ is a fact and important for Christians to celebrate, Miss Alvarez emphasizes that celebrating the resurrection exclusively would miss the important point of Easter. Writing from a historic Christian position, Miss Alvarez affirms the substitutionary sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. Furthermore, Miss Alvarez is emphatic in stressing the divinity of Jesus Christ. Miss Alvarez proves herself to be a doctrinally sound literary master. Her poems inspire, and her prose is deeply moving.
This audiobook is a great celebration of Easter in the tradition of historic Christian faith. This Easter book would be great for listening during Lent as well as throughout the year. It's great for personal devotion as well as for group prayer meetings for church and college Christian groups.
