About this listen
In 1993 Harry Bosch was assigned the case of a missing person, Marie Gesto. The young woman was never found - dead or alive - and the case has haunted Bosch ever since.
Thirteen years later Bosch is in the Open Unsolved Unit when he gets a call from the DA's office. A man accused of two killings is willing to confess to several other murders in a deal to avoid the death penalty. One of his victims, he says, is Marie Gesto. Bosch begins to crack when he realises he and his partner missed a clue back in 1993 which could have prevented the nine murders that followed the killing of Marie Gesto.

Best bosch so far in the series
enjoyed it, reading was OK, though the narrator sounded like he had a cold. he's normally pretty good though.

The Bosch books just get better and better
Excellent story. Always a pleasure to hang out with Harry Bosch. Just finished this one. I’m going to write this review. And then immediately buy the next one. Great narrator too. If you love smoky LA, freeways and shadows, you love this.

One of Michael Connelly's best
Great story and could not stop listening to it once it started. Harry Bosch at his best at his irrascible and determined self. Some amusing and off the cuff remarks make Harry come alive. And as usual great music hints. A very good read written about a great character every police force needs, every society and community needs, and written by a great writer. Thank you Michael for Harry....a hero we all need.

as good as expected
Well constructed and paced. If you like Bosch stories, the author delivers every time - like any good product if the supplier delivers quality time after time, the happy customer will keep buying.
Reading performance competent but not great to my sensibilities.

A real twisting and gripping story line. One of his best.
The knives were drawn and they seemed to have Bosch completely tied up. What a great twist in the plot to give him a narrow opportunity to get the guilty parties lined up for the final showdown. Worth a second read to pick up the subtleties of the dialogue and see the pieces come together.

Another great Harry Bosch tale
I love Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch books and this is no exception. A riveting story, brilliant narration from Len Cariou and mentions of previous cases or people which, if you have listened to the previous audiobooks, make you feel like an insider in what is going on. Superb
