Summary

Here are eight princesses for the Rebel Girls generation: bold, empowered, full of curiosity and adventure and determined to be true to themselves. Natasha Farrant's original stories are set in different times all around the world, blending modern and traditional.

'Mirror, mirror on the wall...what makes a princess excellent?' When the enchantress flings her magic mirror into our universe, reflected in it are princesses who refuse to be pretty, polite or obedient. These are girls determined to do the rescuing themselves.

The Arabian princess of the desert protects her people from the king with the black and gold banner; Latin American princess Tica takes a crocodile for a pet; a Scottish princess explores the high seas; African princess Abayome puts empathy and kindness above being royal; and in a tower-block, Princess saves her precious community garden from the hands of urban developers. These beautifully imagined stories are a twist on familiar princess tales.

Eight princesses and a magic mirror

I love this book so much!
The princess and the knights;
Eloise is worried about her sick sister
and goes questing to find the witch who is an amazing healer.But when Eloise brings the kindly witch to the castle the knights attack…
The desert princess;
Layla is a reckless mischievous princess who hates stiff dresses and crowns. But when a tribe called Azeas threatens her kingdom to a fight Layla must venture out and discover when they were going to start the fight… Even if it meant to do the battle cry
The princess of absolute loveliness;
Abyomme’s city called Banfo is a caring happy place. Once a small girl called Odea got washed down in a flood and the royal family let her stay in Abyomme’s room. But soon a new queen comes to town and as everyone knew she would ,sent Odea away to live with the old chef Madu. So it is up to Abyomme to get her friend back…
The princess of the high seas;
Elenn is a beautiful princess but the only thing she detested was not being aloud to row a boat. But after a year she saw a ship wrecked on the shore one stormy night. The crew all survived apart from one. The captains son. Elenns mission is to find the lost son…
The princess and the crocodile;
Tics has a baby crocodile called Chodo and she loved him so much but the townspeople hated him. The stories they heard were terrifying as they were all about eating small children and even babies. The townspeople are determined to get rid of him so Tica has to prove to everyone that he is harmless before they harm him…
These are a few of the amazing stories
