Erst als sie sich der örtlichen Selbsthilfegruppe anschließt, bessert sich ihre Stimmung. Mit der patenten Taalke, Vogelfreund Bernd und dem schrulligen Gruppenleiter Onno hat sich hier eine bunte Truppe ostfriesischer Urgesteine versammelt. Wenn da nur nicht der missmutige, leider sehr attraktive Tierarzt Ahrend wäre, der so gar nichts für Großstädterin Elli übrigzuhaben scheint…
