Summary
Dorian es un joven muy atractivo y refinado a quien su amigo y pintor, Basil, retrata en un cuadro. Lord Henry, otro joven, amigo de los dos, asegura que el cuadro es el mejor que ha pintado Basil, ya que ha sido capaz de plasmar a la perfección la juventud y lozanía de la belleza de Dorian. Al ver ese perfecto reflejo de sí mismo en el cuadro, Dorian siente pánico de perder esa belleza y juventud, que sabe que inevitablemente se irán marchitando con el implacable devenir del tiempo. Dorian se enamora de Sibyl, una jovencísima e inocente actriz que cada noche le fascina más con su arte. El hermano de Sibyl, antes de viajar a Australia, advierte a todos que si alguien le hace daño a su hermana, le matará.
