Interesting

This story does have some action, as Pell must help Harpoc in fixing those she inadvertently released when reading their secrets aloud. Pell’s inner monologue offers some comedic moments and does feel like a separate person at times. A nice twist on some mythology. Sarah does an excellent job with the narrative and makes this book a pleasure to listen to.

Really enjoyed this, definitely recommend

I finished this in an embarrassingly low number of listens. Loved it and can’t wait to listen to the next one! The fantasy genre can get a bit samey and and tropes get repeated and recycled a lot, but this was so different from what I’ve read before and it worked so well.

An interesting read

Empire of Ash: The author got me engaged throughout the story, and the narrator was equally good. I like the comic relief that comes with this while listening; I find myself chuckling at the character's thoughts. However, I find that as I get into the book, it became a drag as it was almost repetitive, but I kept going. All in all, I like how the author infused mythology and real life

Gold eye Silver eye

This was a good story, it's quite entertaining and has a good story line that's easy to follow with no angst and really likeable characters, myths and lot's of secrets.

Pall is so smart quirky and fun, and her inner minion is so amazing... it's quite funny the conversation they have with each other, I'm myself am rolling my eyes a few times.

Harpoc is an interesting character, full of secrets that we have to discover more of him, but he's great and I really liked him.

I am on to the next book right now because I am invested in this story and want to know what's going to happen next.

It's my first time listening to Sarah Kisko and her narration was quite good, she was so perfect for voicing Pall and Harpoc and brings the story to life in a great manner. Hooray for finding new amazing narrator.

Really interesting

You know that feeling when you start a book and it turns out to be just a really fun and easy book with some really interesting twists on mythology? That is this book. I loved the characters that I met and the twists were spot on. I cant wait for more from this series and this author.

The narration was well picked for the story and I felt that the pacing was spot on for the overall tone and pacing of the book. Definite thumbs up from me.

A fun read and interesting concept

It's probably pitched a bit young for me, but as YA fiction, it was fun, a good performance and a really interesting concept - Egyptology meets a cosmic cryptic conspiracy. I liked the heroine but the plot was probably a little too simple. Still there is plenty of room for it to develop and it zipped along quite cheerfully,

By the end I HAD to get the second book

It started off slowly and I originally thought that it might be aimed more at the young adult market but here I am, waaaaaay older than that and loving the story of Pell and Harpoc. L.R.W Lee has created a fantastic fantasy world, mixed with mythology from our own time. I kept finding myself looking for chores to do where I could just put my earbuds in and crack on with the story. Sarah has done a brilliant job with the narration. Can't wait for book 2.
