Summary

Discover how to learn poker math and use the techniques for your poker games.

Poker is one of the oldest and most enduring games on the face of the earth, and Texas hold 'em has been the most popular form of the game for nearly three decades. Millions of dollars change hands thanks to the game each year, and if you want to earn your share, then you are going to need to understand the math that goes into the game to ensure you can formulate a solid plan of action moving forward.

To help you do just that, the following chapters will discuss all the things you need to know in order to help take your Texas hold ’em play to the max. First, you are going to learn all about the basics of poker math and the role probability will play in your calculations. Next, you will learn how to calculate pot odds, which will make it easier to determine how likely you are to win a given pot with your current hand. You will then learn how to determine the amount of equity you have in the given hand as well as the reasons why you would care in the first place.

From there, you will learn all about expected value and how to determine it on the fly in any situation. Doing so will allow you to understand the concepts behind combinatorics, the fancy name for the process of determining how likely you are to end up with a given hand based on the cards you can currently see. You will then learn a variety of starting strategies that will help you put what you have learned so far to good use. Finally, you will learn how to put the squeeze on your opponents and how to avoid letting them put a squeeze on you.

There are plenty of guides on this subject on the market, so thanks again for choosing this one! Every effort was made to ensure it is full of as much useful information as possible. Please enjoy!
