Summary

Andrew lost his dad and is struggling to pick up the pieces. The first one? Reform the support group his father used to run for military members and the people who love them.

What he didn't expect was to meet a handsome, older soldier. Falling in love with Michael was never on the agenda. But when their hearts get involved, Andrew has to make a decision - can he withstand the pressure of loving a man who has PTSD? The very reason his father died?

First book by a new author

This is the first book by a new author. It took me a while to get into it. I was reading and listening to the audiobook and felt my mind drifting at times. However, the story became more entertaining as it went along. I particularly think the descriptions of Michael's PTSD are believable and well researched. I recognize myself in some of it.

The couple work well together. Michael needs someone like Andrew, but I was pleased to see Andrew realise that their relationship wouldn't be healthy unless Michael got help.

I like hot sex in my reads, but dare I say it? I think the storyline relied a little too much on these scenes at the expense of further development of their relationship.

The narration by Lance Adams is very good. A new voice to me, it took a couple of chapters to get used to, but I found him to be clear and expressive.

I will certainly read the next book in the series. (Hopefully, this book will have fewer grammar errors.)
