'Impossible to put down' Laura Dave
'A real page-turner' Radio Times
HOW FAR WOULD A FATHER GO TO DEFEND HIS FAMILY?
When Nick Wychwood loses his wife Elise in a shocking accident, he is left to bring up their daughter Lucy on his own. Moving house gives them the fresh start that they need, where they can put tragedy behind them and forge new friendships.
But Lucy, is fragile, vulnerable, easily led. When someone offers her their shoulder, their warmth and understanding, even love, she accepts, unquestioningly. But this ‘someone’ is an online monster; dangerous, deceptive, manipulative – and patiently laying a deadly trap.
As he uncovers the hideous truth of what happened to his beloved daughter, Nick vows to track down the person behind the screen. And when he succeeds, a devastating reckoning awaits…
Set in the picturesque Cotswolds, Father’s Day explores the power of paternal love, the evil of online trolling, and the morality of extrajudicial punishment. Father’s Day; a day of vengeance.

An unusual but brilliant murder story
I don’t want to give any spoilers but I can say it gets more riveting the more you read.

believable story and such good narration
I thoroughly enjoyed both the story and exceedingly good narration. 15 word minimum is unnecessary.

Captivating
Well who knew Mr. Madeley had this kind of twisted imagination. It’s amazing for all the wrong reasons. Meaning I couldn’t stop listening and needing to find out what happened next in this harrowing tale. The description and voice of the main character were spot on. I knew just the type but mine had the added belly hair on the overhang and builders bum. And the Dad was Madeley himself due to the language used. I really enjoyed this book and I’m glad I caught him promoting it on ‘This Morning’. I wasn’t aware Richard wrote books, so I am pleasantly surprised at this one. I’m definitely a big fan now and will be looking for more. Highly recommend.

The story.
It’s read in a straight to the point way. It keeps you listening and although the storyline is dark it’s relevant to today’s world. Very good book.

My first Richard Madeley title. Another new author to add to my collections.
This was fantastic. Loved it right from the start to the very end. Couldn’t stop listening. Binge listened in 24 hours. I’ve purchased the rest of the authors books ready to listen to. I do hope he carries on writing in the very near future. Awarded this title a full 5 stars for overall, performance and story. It was so good. Kept me gripped. Well done Mr M. Excellent.

Gripping, conflicting & modern crime thriller
Really well written - unsettling & sad. Tragic events leading to a father taking horrific revenge on a cat-fisher.
The storyline follows the police investigation & background events leading up to a macabre, sadistic murder. You’re constantly conflicted on who’s side you should be on.
It’s a page turner or rather a great listen. Well narrated. Loved that it was set in the Cotswolds & surrounding areas.
Tight editing means there is no fat or faff with this novel. I zipped through it in a few days. Loved it & recommended it to a couple of friends.

Sound
Well written and well read - interesting story- my only irritation was the fact that the sound kept fading - this must be Audible as all other books are ok - this detracted from the enjoyment of what would have been an enthralling listen
