Summary
The phenomenal new thriller from the multi-million-copy best-selling author of Before I Go to Sleep.
Blackwood Bay. An ordinary place, home to ordinary people.
It used to be a buzzing seaside destination. But now, ravaged by the effects of dwindling tourism and economic downturn, it’s a ghost town - and the perfect place for film-maker Alex to shoot her new documentary. But the community is deeply suspicious of her intentions. After all, nothing exciting ever happens in Blackwood Bay - or does it?
Blackwood Bay. An ordinary place, home to an extraordinary secret.

Exceptionally dull
The premise sounded interesting but the book proved to be very dull. Building up to a big third act twist that is glaringly obvious throughout (to the extent I was hoping it was so obvious that the story would go a different direction). Couldn't wait for it to be over by the end

Disappointing
A poor effort from the author of Before I go to Sleep. There is a good story here but it's half the length of this and a better editor would have brought it out. The final explanation is particularly unnecessary - anyone who had listened to the end would surely have worked it all out for themselves. As for the principle narrator - irritating!
