Not for me!
I tried to persevere with this book as other reviews had said it takes a awhile to get going ! I kept waiting for this but it did not happen for me. Boring boring, boring! I am returning it!

Should get an award
Brilliant story, superbly written with great narration. I love it. Have read two previous books of Sabine’s and loved both of those but this one was completely different and even better. Fully recommend.

Brilliant
Another very cleverly crafted novel by Sabine Durrant, maybe my favourite… so far, a deliciously wicked but quite poignant character in Verity and as usual, a masterful delivery by Juliet Stevenson, what is there not to like? The dog wondered why our walks were so long the last few days! I would recommend to anybody and urge listeners who gave up to return to it!

Loved this listen
I found this book difficult to get into BUT I am v pleased I persevered. I really liked the main character and was v intrigued by her neighbour. Definitely worth a listen to. Very different from the books I have listened to from the same author

Finders, Keepers
I always enjoy listening to Sabine Durrant's psychological novels as they're brilliantly crafted and well-written. This book was truly excellent, a study of gentrification and loneliness with the added bonus that my middle cousin was very much like the Tilsons. It was long, but it was so good that I didn't mind.
Juliet Stevenson was generally a good narrator especially with her upper-middle class characters, although Ailsa in particular had that shrillness which waspish women often have. Miss Stevenson's portrayal of Verity, the unreliable narrator, was a bit too 'cockney' because the character was too isolated to pick up the local parlance; it reminded me of her performance of Keira Knightley's mother in 'Bend It Like Beckham'.

Disappointing!
I have enjoyed several of Sabine Durrant' s other books and I usually love Juliet Stevenson's narration; not the case here! Stevenson's narration is abrasive and like a parody. The story is okay, quite intriguing; takes a very long time to get going.
