About this listen
When her father’s killer, Glen Fallan, is arrested for another murder, PI Jasmine Sharp enters an underworld where violence is a way of life and vengeance spans generations. DS Catherine McLeod has one major Glaswegian gangster in the mortuary and another in the cells for killing him - which ought to be cause for celebration. But this case is far more dangerous than it appears on the surface; deeper than skin, darker than blood.…

Another excellent Jasmine Sharp story
What made the experience of listening to Flesh Wounds the most enjoyable?
It was another great episode of the Jasmine Sharp world. In typical style Brookmyre weaves a believable Glasgow story with the usual characters. The truth is finally revealed about Jasmine's father as she tries to prove the innocence of her sometime protector and mentor Fallon.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Flesh Wounds?
Probably the dispatch of the arch villain by Jasmine Sharp, horrifyingly icky.
What about Sarah Barron’s performance did you like?
As usual her performance was excellent, she gives life to the characters and the Glasgow turn of phrase is brought to life by her silky Scottish voice.
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Revenge of the bams!
Any additional comments?
Brookmyre's work is excellent, I have followed him for many years through many characters. Jasmine Sharp has grown as a character through the three books to a likeable, intelligent and Machiavellian character in true Brookmyre style. In fact the cast of regular characters have all grown into three dimensional people that you can't but fail to care for. If you are looking for a good taste of Glasgae wrapped up in a rip roaring story, this book is for you.

Plot spoiler for Book 1 - thanks Audible!
I am currently listening to the first in the series and, as I was enjoying is so much, decided to look at the next in the series. The first line of the description reveals away a major plot twist in book one, which I hadn't got to yet. AAAARRGGGGHHHH.
I realise that the descriptions on Audible are usually blurbs from the publisher, cut and pasted but for goodness' sake, sort it out!
I want my money back for the previous book. and yes, you probably won't post this but I needed a good moan...

Personal Sharp Investigations
This installment of the Sharp Investigations novels brings back the truly personal element for Jasmine and Fallon, and adds in some more personal stories for the other characters we've already encountered as well. I enjoyed this book. when I first read it and the narration is once again spot on making this version highly enjoyable too.

Great characters and a strong narrative
Having listened to and enjoyed the first two parts of this trilogy I was not disappointed by the third. Strong characters and two entwined narratives make this a compelling listen.
An excellent narrator, I felt I could visualise each protagonist - except one! My only complaint is the voice she gave Catherine McLeod was not a good fit. Way too "common"!
Ninety nine and three quarters out of ten!
I hope a fourth part is in the works!

Best book ever from Christopher Brookmyre
Off all the Christopher Brookmyre books ive read this is the best with the best ending, as much as I love the Jack Parlabane books this trumps them and needs to be continued,Glen Fallon is the way forward

Best in the series - so far?
Cracking book that ties up lots of threads. It’s definitely the best in the series and in my opinion, in Chris Brookmyre’s top ten. I hope to hear more about Jasmine, Catherine and Co.

best one yet... yet again
The twists and turns were tightly controlled, keeping me guessing but never correctly. What a treat.

Enjoyable
Would you listen to Flesh Wounds again? Why?
Yes, it has a deep enough plot to warrant a second listen also the narration was enjoyable and well paced
What did you like best about this story?
The interaction of the characters and the buiding of the plot
What does Sarah Barron bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
For me she bought the characters to life and added a local Scottish emphasis to words and phrases I would not consider
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No but not because of it's quality but more to the fact I like to absorb and consider what I have listened to in books like this and try to predict thier path
Any additional comments?
A good book well worth a credit
