Summary

fantastic story
I am such a bad book lover because I have never really read any books about shifters apart from the Twilight books many,many years ago.
So Frost and Fate by Violet Taylor was my first shifter book in a long time so I count it as my first and I can tell you something I was so pleasantly surprised,and very impressed.
I Absolutely LOVED it..This is the kind of story you could easily become addicted to,and I am addicted and totally invested in this series...I can't wait to be able to listen to book 2.
Nova is living an ordinary life just like everyone else,until she is taken by some strange beings known as The Collectors...As you would expect Nova is completely confused until she is brutally assaulted and beaten by them and that is when she discovers that she is not human.
Nova is a Celestial and weilds the power of Ice Magic that only seems to appear when she is under stress or mad ,frustrated etc..
During her attack she is rescued by Darren and his pack of Lycan's...Nova needs protection from the Collectors who want her for unknown reasons which won't be good.
But she also needs to train and control her new found magic,and there is another power stiring within her...the strong surge of attraction she has for Darren.
Darren is a Lycan and he is drawn to Nova like no other human,Lycan or supernatural being has ever had on him...She effects him and he cannot resist her,they are like magnets that cannot repel from eachother.Sparks fly between them and they know they are soul mates...they are insatiable for one another and the steam is HOT,HOT, HOT.!
But with danger around every corner will Darren and his Alpha's pack be able to keep the Collectors at bay.
I LOVED all the characters in this book and I am excited for each of their Stories I am so intrigued about how this series will transpire.I am fascinated by Lark and what will become of him..
I am totally hooked this is an OUTSTANDING story and the Narration is PHENOMENAL !!
The voices of Stella Hunter and Ryan West is exquisite they left me in AWE with their accents and the emotions they showed...Ryan West completely WOWED me and Stella Hunter is as stunning as she always is.They made this book come Alive in a way I can't explain,it was true PERFECTION, and I am so glad I listened to the audiobook instead of reading it myself.
I could not stop listening to it I could not get enough and did not want it to end.
I throughly enjoyed this audiobook and I will now listen to more supernatural/shifter romance.
Bravo Violet Taylor I Love your imagination,I am now a new fan.

Addictive first intro into a new world
I ADORE a shifter fated mates romance so when I found this new series and narrated IN DUET by two of my favourite narrators, Stella Hunter and Ryan West I was all over it.
Its really wonderful, a brilliant introduction into this world Violet Taylor has created with lycans and magic and a sinister shadowy villain and a kick ass heroine with her own latent supernatural powers. Its just everything paranormal romance fans could want.
The delicate relationship between Nova and Darren is electric, played to perfection by the narrators and I love the ensemble of characters around them with a real found family vibe. There is plenty of action and steamy scenes and it just had me itching for the next story in the series.

Frost and Fate
I really enjoyed the way the two narrators reading this managed to make each character distinguishable from the others. Their voices managed to capture the magic of the story and help it come to life.
Frost and Fate is a great read. Nova is a beautiful young woman who is attacked because she has secret powers. Rescued by a group of shifters she is thrown into a world she never knew existed and has to come to terms with not only having magical powers, but also the realisation she has met her fated mate.

Amazing Fated Mate story
Narrators were amazing. Nova is caught by collectors trying to see if she has Celestial powers. Unfortunately it takes trauma to bring them to the surface. She is rescued by Lycans and escapes the collectors. She finds her fated mate as well as some friends. However she is still being hunted. The story is great, full of magic, action, spicy times and a found family.

Loved this book
I really enjoyed these characters epically Nova who is a celestial and what all that entails and her chemistry with Darin that's off the charts. Also loves all the other characters introduces and cannot wait to continue with this series.

I loved this paranormal romance!
Nova is an ordinary woman… or so she thinks. A violent attack awakens incredible powers, dormant until now. She is a Celestial, and her unique powers make her a once-in-a-lifetime find for the Collectors. The Collectors are literally rotting corpses of evil, but they need people like her to keep them alive. The lengths they will go to are brutal, evil, and horrific. Nova finds comfort and safety in a Lycan community. Darren, the head of security in the community, finds her captivating. But there is danger and magic everywhere, as Nova and Darren fight to find their way together. This story is so well done. Great story, great characters, and well-crafted tale.

Get spare knickers ready
This is my first Audio book and I have to say I may be converted!
I had to speed it up a little as the accents were hard to keep up with for me personally. And all the different characters with different accents made it a little blurry so I listened twice!
The story it’s self was impeccable, come an join nova as she finds her powers and her mate! The story of her kidnappings, self discovery and the love / lust is *chefs kiss*! she ends up with a found family that will go to any length to keep her safe!
Some of the battle scenes got abit confusing for me with the accents and I feel if I had read them I’d have kept up abit more BUT again this is my first audio book and my personal experience.
On the other hand the spice be spicing soon as I heard the ‘ooohhh’s’ and Darren growling words into her ear I had to change my knickers 🥵
Overall a fantastic book and worth a listen if not a read 😏

Didn’t want to stop listening
I really enjoyed this book. It held my attention the entire time. The very first scene almost sent me away b/c it was so graphic, however I stuck it out and I’m so glad I did. The characters are intriguing and their interaction is entertaining. This is a stand alone but they definitely get you ready for the next book and you want to know what going to happen next. The narration was awesome they brought these characters to life. That might actually be part of the reason why I was so mesmerized by this book. I definitely recommend it.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. Violet Taylor is both a new to me author and a new author in general. Hopefully she’ll continue to write for years to come so I can keep enjoying her work.
There were some great things about FROST AND FATE that I really liked and just few things that didn’t do it for me.
Great Things:
- The story was unique. I appreciated the variety of powers exhibited by the various characters.
- Likable main characters. I preferred Nova over Darren.
- Likable secondary characters making you want to continue with the series. I’m looking forward to Aria’s story.
- Lots of action.
- Frustrating slow burn combined with fated mates spiciness.
- Nova shutting down Darren with a quickness when he tried to tell her what to do.
Things that didn’t do it for me:
- Although the attraction between the MCs was easily felt I didn’t buy the love feelings between them.
- The sorta love triangle subplot. It was unnecessary and wasn’t dealt with in the way I wanted. When Darren finally says “She’s mine” IMO he should have also said “I should’ve told you from the start.” or something like that.
About the narration:
Stella Hunter and Ryan West brought this story to life with their wonderful duet narration. I especially enjoyed West’s use of accents with certain characters. Something that I would have liked to hear more of from both of the narrators is more variation between the characters with the American accents.
