About this listen

Enter the riveting and volatile world of the Burger Bar Boys, Birmingham's infamous gang, in this relentless chronicle of power, violence, and redemption. Gangland Birmingham: The Rise and Fall of the Burger Bar Boys unravels the intricate narrative of one of the UK's most notorious gangs from their humble beginnings to their inevitable downfall.

In this searing exposé, explore the gang's birth and evolution in the gritty streets of Birmingham, its stronghold. Walk through the gang's controlled territories and delve deep into the initiation rituals that marked the beginning of a life steeped in crime, violence, and brotherhood.

The narrative intensifies as it ventures into the gang's brutal weapon of choice, their involvement in the horrific Aston Shootings, and their illicit drug trafficking trade that held Birmingham in a stranglehold. The book deciphers the gang's cryptic code of silence and introduces listeners to the Burger Bar Boys' fierce rivals, the Johnson Crew, inciting a deadly gang war that tore through the heart of the city.

Uncover the chilling exploitation of child soldiers within the gang, a disquieting testament to the gang's ruthless tactics. The profound impact on Birmingham's communities, living in the shadow of constant fear, paints a stark picture of a city under siege.

This extraordinary narrative is pieced together from hundreds of interviews, offering unprecedented access into the Burger Bar Boys' secret world. Witnesses, victims, ex-gang members, and law enforcement provide their intimate accounts, creating a raw and visceral portrait of gang life.

Discover the roles of women within the gang and how the Burger Bar Boys managed to extend their influence within the imposing walls of prison. Follow the landmark trials that sought to dismantle the gang's reign and marvel at the remarkable stories of redemption from those who escaped the clutches of this criminal fraternity.

This deep-dive doesn't stop at merely recounting the past. It exposes the gang's impact on popular culture, discusses cold cases still haunting the Birmingham Police, and confronts the Burger Bar Boys' decline and the resulting power vacuum.

Gangland Birmingham: The Rise and Fall of the Burger Bar Boys is a masterful and in-depth exploration of a community's battle with the underworld, a testament to human resilience, and a wake-up call to the lasting consequences of gang culture. It is a crucial listen for anyone intrigued by the mechanics of the criminal underworld, the socio-economic impact of gang warfare, or the city of Birmingham's tumultuous struggle with crime and violence.

Don't waste your time

What a con. Its a gcse paper with no insight, no names, no descriptions of crimes. Even the trial could have been written by a Yr 7 student.
The narrator keeps dragging out the end of Burger Bar Bohhyys as well which is creepy and made me want to pull my ears off after the 1000th time he did it.

Zero detail

Completely misleading, no detail or anything about them or what they did. Very poor and a complete let down.
