About this listen

For decades, inexplicable technology has passed into our world through the top secret anomaly called the Breach.

The latest device can punch a hole into the future . . .

What Paige Campbell saw when she opened a door into 70 years from now scared the hell out of her. She and her Tangent colleagues brought their terrible discovery to the President and were met with a hail of automatic gunfire after leaving the White House. Only Paige survived.

Fearing a terrifying personal destiny revealed to him from the other side of the Breach, Travis Chase abandoned Tangent . . . and Paige Campbell. Now he must rescue her because Paige knows tomorrow's world is desolate and dead, a ghost country scattered with the bones of billions. And Doomsday will dawn in just four short months . . . unless they can find the answers buried in the ruins to come.

But once they cross the nightmare border into Ghost Country, they might never find their way back . . .

Oh Goodness Me!

The sequel of This Breach makes it seem like an interesting, but dull thriller - which it is definitely NOT!

So, just brace yourself for an period of uninterrupted adrenaline rush, which is my way of warning you that you won't be able to put this audio book down, so don't start reading it until you know that you have the uninterrupted time to do so!

The narrator is just fantastic! You get swept along in the sheer excitement of it all, because that's just the way that he reads it. Impressive!

You won't see any of it coming… Enjoy!

The Breach - was just the begining

Any additional comments?

I picked up the first book "The Breach" on a whim. I'd never heard of Patrick Lee, and was just looking for something to fill a gap. The synopsis on the back intrigued me and I gave it a shot.

I'm really glad I did. The pace was fantastic, and the whole story keeps you guessing all the way through...delightfully in the dark. The finish was for me just right and I left thinking "what a great stand alone book".

I later learned that is is in fact the first of a trilogy. I then picked up "Ghost Country" and was instantly taken aback by what I thought I knew. "Ghost Country" made me realise the questions that were still there from the Breach were part of a MUCH bigger picture. The pace instantly sets off again and you get for the first time the sense of scale that the bigger picture involves.

New entities, new twists and a great finale again...

Wholeheartedly recommended..

Damned good

Just fab as usual. Beautifully presented and read by Jeff. Not quite as good as book 1, but almost. Can't wait to get book 3

So many technical details...

...that a poor woman like me finds it hard to follow. This is the third volume of the trilogy. Well imagined , it does
give some closure to the entangled situation. Often surprising, well written and well performed. My only problem with it
was the techhnical side. Never understood much about the cyllinder...and other things.

Liked the overall story

Kept me interested but this book failed to deliver on some level, but definately worth a read. Cannot really put my finger on whats making me mark this book down, maybe I have read too many or expect too much. I think I wanted more explanation and investigation of the anomaly itself, a very general overview of the story is we are going to mess up the planet so some guys decide to kill everyone, and thanks to a bit of time travel it's avoided. By no means a rubbish book but I feel it's missing something.

Even better than the Breach!!!!

I loved this book, it was so exciting, so well read, and fast paced. Now, everything is compared to it and nothing has come close

So exciting.

Different in a refreshing way from the first book. Stripped back and dynamic. Makes you wonder how close the world is to the end. Main characters really engaging although the end did stretch a tiny bit. Loved it. Great performance by narrator.

Everything took between 30 seconds and 5 minutes

I love this story. It is intriguing. Jeff takes big in breaths between sentences which can be grating and he badly mimics the women's voices when they are speaking which sounds terrible. Otherwise he is great to listen to.

Patrick massively overdid his description of timings. Everyone kept looking at things for 30 seconds or took 3 seconds or 5 seconds, 10 minutes and so on to the point where I found myself rolling my eyes and wanting to stop listening. I kind of want to write to Patrick and ask why so obsessed with the timings of everything? Beyond that, the story is strong but sadly the character development less so, lots of action and characters standing for 5 seconds looking shocked, but little depth.

Despite my heavy criticisms, I will still listen to book 3 and no doubt enjoy it as much as the first 2 (a lot). So keep an eye out in the next 72 hours to 4 weeks give or take a few days where I spend 30 seconds to 3 minutes trying to decide how I want to react to events that occur between now and then.
