About this listen

Best seller in eight mystery and humor categories!

Rednecks, romance, and a last shot at redemption. Solve this twisty mystery before you die laughing!

After being duped out of her life savings in Germany, Val Fremden retreats home to Florida with more than just her pride in tatters. Broke, jobless, divorced, and 45, she knows starting over won’t be easy. But when her only friend suddenly turns up dead, Val begins to wonder if the world is out to get her.

Maybe it is...

The sugar-white sands of Sunset Beach attract weirdos like mosquitoes to a bug zapper. So when the will of Val’s friend makes the local newspaper, lunatics, and con artists stumble from their beach shacks scuffling for a piece of the leftover pie.

Determined to find her friend’s true heir, Val reluctantly turns to three crackpots for help - a drunk, a redneck, and a snarky beach bum. Working at odds with each other, their bumbling investigation attracts the attention of a hot cop. He quickly gets into the fray and under Val’s skin. Whether it’s in a good way or bad only time will tell....

Life’s a beach and then you die. If you’re ready for a good laugh and a great mystery, check out Glad One and its crazy cast of characters today. Funny Florida mysteries don't get any wackier!

A hug for the soul

I have read a lot of good books lately. This one tops it all. Mostly I read humorous books. I don´t read sad at all. That said. And I might not be able to say this without spoilers! One part of this story is so sad it is traumatic. And I have no idea how the author is able to write traumatic in a way that is also one part hopeful and uplifting. What ever it is, it is beautiful. Tragically beautiful. But that is life for you I guess. So yes, this is so very far from the books I usually read. Have no idea how I found this book, but am glad I did. While the story is advertised for it´s humor it is more about the underdogs in life. So more about kicks to the gut. The humor in the story is of course good, but far from the best part of it. In many ways this is the best self help book you can read, it has heartwarming acceptance of self, shows you strength in all it´s glory and will teach you to breath. This is also a seriously awesome mystery, with turns and twists that will keep to glued to the book till the end. And then wanting more. The storytelling is flawless and the characters perfect in their humanity. The story is that gripping it had caught me before I realized the story wasn´t a comedy. And I don´t do serious. Can I recommend the story more?

Endearing & a fun listen

An almost down and out author; an elderly, no-nonsense lady wh's seen better days; three hapless beach bums.

What could possibly go wrong?

A lot, apparently.

Lighthearted, moving, hilarious. Enjoyed every minute of it. And very well read. Off to download the next in the series!
