Summary
An unexpected gift offers the power to change everything. Keeping it could cost Diem her life.
The threat of war has arrived at Diem's doorstep, along with a new discovery that could save her people. To use it, she must survive the next thirty days by forming a devil's bargain with the people she hates most: the royal family of House Corbois.
As she dives into the world of the Descended elite, Diem quickly realizes good and evil aren't as simple as they seem. Old prejudices are challenged, and new loyalties blur the line between friend and foe.
Meanwhile, her mother is still missing, and the secrets she left behind can no longer be ignored—and neither can the Guardians and their demands. Caught between an old flame and a sizzling new spark, Diem must confront the truth about who she is and what she wants before time runs out.
War is coming, and dangerous enemies wait on all sides... but the most deadly battle Diem faces may be the one for her heart.
Glow of the Everflame is the second book in The Kindred's Curse Saga, a four-book epic fantasy romance series that follows our feisty, bad*ss heroine Diem Bellator in her fight against injustice and oppression, her struggle to survive in a royal palace full of betrayal and intrigue, and her journey of self-discovery and finding true love.

Loved! Enthralled!
I re listened to the first book so I could refresh my memory and I'm glad I did! It's such an intricate plot, I'd never have picked up all the details otherwise!
I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next one!!!!
Luther is totally my new book boyfriend, I hope the next book is a lil more spicy.
My only criticism would be that in some scenarios a character just needs to say what they know and the scene outcomes would be fixed but then there'd be a lot less drama!
I'm waiting, not so patiently, for the next book!!

Much Better than book 1- Edge of my seat
I was recommended this series and honestly nearly didn’t get through the first book which felt like a slog to get through. However the pay off and raising of stakes in the second book was immaculate. Launched into some really interesting high stakes dynamics between characters and kingdoms and crowns. Can’t wait for the next one.

A Much More Disappointing Book, Unfortunately.😢
Glow of the Everflame: The Kindred's Curse Saga, Book 2

Another good audiobook, though I felt the narrator got her characters a little confused at times. There are so many, it's hardly surprising.👍
There is a great deal of angst, stubbornness, blind loyalty, and naivety in the first 85% of this book. There is also a deep heartbreak that brought me to tears.💔😭 Diem and Henri annoyed me greatly. Luther seemed to be the only adult, along with her little brother!
I found Diem completely aggravating up until I hit 85% in this book.🤨 She was too quick tempered, bratty, idiotic, petulant, and oh so whiney!🙄 She finally womaned up once she hit her head on a rock.🤷🏻♀️ I was profoundly disappointed after how amazing book 1 was.😢 Honestly, I was rating it 2.5/3 stars max at that point. The last 15% of the book saved it entirely and took it 3.75 ⭐️
