Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

The hilarious memoir from comedian, Off Menu host and Great British Menu judge, Ed Gamble. Includes an exclusive bonus interview between Ed Gamble and fellow comedian and food-lover, Nish Kumar.

From a young age, Ed Gamble's immaculate bibs and extremely dirty nappies hinted at his capacious appetite. Before he could walk, Ed already knew that he preferred poached salmon to puree, that celery was a calorie-sapping waste of time, and that mashed potatoes should be made with lashings of butter.

Whilst he might ordinarily have been upset by the calls of 'precocious little s--t' coming from his family, he was too busy stuffing his gob and staging rebellions against the patronising list of misery that is a children's menu.

In Glutton, Ed shares a relatable buffet of experiences and stories from a life lived through food. From the trials of being a diabetic with a sweet tooth to his teenage battles with obesity, to the joy of cooking and the power of food to bring us together, this is a wonderful, hilarious and heart-warming memoir of a delightful obsession.

Food, laughs and diabetes-what’s not to like

Loved the whole book and performance. My favourite part was the bonus chat with Nish.

love comedy and food - book for you!

Already a big fan of Ed from seeing him perform WIP shows in Edinburgh. I honestly laughed from start to finish, being about the same age it's a bit of a nostalgic road trip.
Don't think, just get this book and enjoy.

I thought the hoy sin pizza part stood out the most.

The additional material at end of book was a little annoying. I felt like it was too familiar.

Very funny anecdotal autobiography

Thoroughly enjoyed this autobiography. Lots of pop culture references which is a treat for someone growing up in the 90s and 2000s to take you down memory lane. Also a lot of references that I could relate to having lived local to Raynes Park.

I love the journey of food and how it can tell chapters of your life. This is a clever and funny book. Would recommend to anyone looking for a trip down memory lane or who just loves to fantasise about food.

Generally brilliant

Loved it all. Interesting way food stories has been brought to tell one's life!!! Ed's narration is beautiful and I really liked the extra bit at the end with Nish Kumar - two funny men talking about funny food, why not!!
