Summary

A captivating first-person look at one of the world's most powerful prosperity dynasties that offers a unique perspective on greed, the Church, and the journey toward Truth.

Millions desperate for hope and solutions are enticed by the promise of the prosperity gospel - that God will do whatever they need with just a little faith and a financial gift. All the while, prosperity preachers exploit the poor and the needy to stockpile their riches. What can followers of the true gospel do to combat the deception?

Through a remarkable and fascinating journey, Costi Hinn went from a next-generation prosperity preacher to the first to abandon the family faith and share the true gospel. Nephew of the world-famous televangelist Benny Hinn, Costi had a front-row seat to the inner workings and theology of the prosperity gospel. But as Costi's faith deepened, so did his questions about prosperity teaching. As the deceptions in his past were exposed, Costi came face-to-face with the hypocrisy and devastation caused by his belief system and the overwhelming truth about the real Jesus Christ.

This captivating look into the daily lives of one of the world's leading prosperity dynasties offers a thoughtful perspective on the perils of greed, the power of the true gospel, and hope for the future of the global church. Through real-life stories, Costi challenges and equips listeners to be living lights pointing the way to the true gospel and the saving grace of Christ. God, Greed, and the (Prosperity) Gospel will bolster your faith and encourage your own journey toward the truth.

Brutally honest!

The book is a well fit for an audible listen. Interestingly, the narrator almost sounds like the author himself. It's a good listen, and flows easily. I completed it in 'one sitting'.

Costi gives detailed accounts of his involvement with his Uncle Benny, describing the major ones that eventually led him to ponder on the lavish lifestyle, the Mumbai Vs UAE and Greece experience

And concludes the last chapters with how he eventually got to know the truth, highlighting personal accounts of the challenges he faced along the way.

It's thought provoking and will drive you to your Bible afterwards.

Behind the Scenes from Vanity Fair

The author has provided a very brave account in portraying the behind the scenes of his uncle’s ministry. Interwoven are the hurts and doctrines which are open for the reader to interpret and guide to judge.

I don’t believe that this is a good biblical basis for deriving at the authors conclusions and therefore it would have been beneficial to show the Scriptures for justifying the Prosperity Gospel proponents position.

This book reads-out like an open letter to Benny Hinn and probably could have excluded him to focus on biblical truth to counter such teachings.

After listening to this I felt more heartbroken than angry. Not sad for the proponents of Prosperity Gospel but sad for those gullible, blinded Christians who can’t read their Bible within contexts. Their local pastors are contributors to this for not preparing their members to seeking emotionalism.

The author is obliviously hurt and signs of wounds leak through the documentary. A valuable testimony however an incomplete work to the biblical basis for the author’s new found belief so to deter future pilgrims away from Vanity Fair.

Thank you for sharing!

thoroughly enjoyed it

Really liked how Costi took us on a journey of his own life and showed the bread crumbs that were down in his life that he later remembered and drew reference to within this account. I also really appreciate the honesty with what he shared and maturity in how he approached the topic with truth, but with love and respect. A very good read 🙂👍🏼

Honest appraisal of the prosperity gospel

Great book that combines scripture and behind the scenes experience of the evil prosperity gospel. Benny Hinn is a false prophet and as chrisitans we should be careful what and who we believe.

A MUST READ!!!

This book is necessary for every Christian and even non Christians perplexed by the mode of practice of Christian by many in Africa and Brazil.

This books left me hungry for more. I need signposts to books that further explore doctrinal errors and practices to help me articulate further these issues on my heart.

Thanks for this Costi. You remind me of Prince Harry and Meghan. You're very brave.
