About this listen
New York Times best-selling author P. C. Cast's Goddess Summoning series continues as a modern woman attempts to tame a wild beast with the power of love.
Empousai family roses have bloomed for centuries, thanks to the drops of blood their women sacrifice for their gardens. But Mikki would rather forget this family quirk and lead a normal life. Until she unwittingly performs a ritual, ending up in the strangely familiar Realm of the Rose. As its goddess Hecate reveals, Mikki is a priestess - and the Realm's been waiting for her.
Long ago, an enraged Hecate cursed her guardian beast and the entire Realm with a slumber only a priestess can undo - and she's counting on Mikki to set things right. The beast at first terrifies Mikki, but soon intrigues her more than any man ever has. Now, the only way he and the Realm can be saved is for Mikki to sacrifice her life-giving blood - and herself.

What an incredible escape to the realm of the rose, it makes me wonder if there is such a place of beauty!

Hmmmm
Would you try another book written by P. C. Cast or narrated by Caitlin Davies?
Caitlin Davies has a very strange way of narrating this book. At times her inflections make it sound like a computer simulation is reading the book not a real live person. Maybe it's her accent, but it is very strange and noticeable and at times annoying.

Great story but completely awful narration
I absolutely adore these stories but the pronunciation of Hecate and the Greek names is just awful! The stories are brilliant and really well written but every single time she says Hecate and pronounces it heKate just makes me cringe. Please if you’re reading anything with Greek names do your research on how to pronounce them before you butcher them completely!! I’ll stick to the book!!

This is my absalute favourite book of all time!!
Beautifully written making the story unfold in your mind easily. I have listened to this over and over and it never gets old, such a magical yet still manages to stay believable spin on an old favourite fairy tail.
I have both read and listened to this as well as other books in this series and though I love them all this is my absalute favourite. A book I come back to time and time again yet it still reaches my heart everytime.
Highly recomended to any who loves a little beast in a man and a strong femail character.

I feel as if it’s being narrated by a machine
Unfortunately I can’t tell you how the actual story progresses even though I have been a fan of this author for a while... I will buy the hard copy of this book to read in the future however I am unable to stand the uncomfortable unhuman like tone of the narration a moment longer... it is as if it was being read by the ‘speaking clock’. My mistake for not listening to the ‘sample’ before buying the audio book (a mistake I will not make again). Utterly disappointed.

The narration
The only thing that ruins this story is the aweful naration. The narator dose not pause when there's a clearly a full stop, makes the main male character sounds like a dieing grandmother..?
The tone and way this books is narrated makes it annoying to listen to, absolute waste of credit.
