Highly recommend
I had this book and audiobook as a child and happily listen to or read it again now. The story is well-crafted and moving, and the narration by Malahide is one of the best I've heard. The abridgement is also well-handled and maintains the crux of the story whilst cutting the length to a digestible amount. Music interludes throughout to break up the story into sections are a welcome edition. I'd recommend this story to young teens specifically and anyone who is looking for genuine poignancy in their audiobook.
