About this listen
Maggy Thorsen is back! When the coffeehouse owner is dragooned into emceeing the barista competition (think Iron Chef, but with coffee) at the industry's scaldingly competitive trade show, she fears nothing good will come of it. Sure enough, the morning of the finals, Maggy discovers the body of her chief rival and conference organizer, Marvin LaRoche, under the trophy table.
Finding herself not only the fill-in conference coordinator, but also chief suspect, Maggy must track the murderer, save her coffeehouse and, if she has some spare time, heat up her love life.

more coffee and murder
another really enjoyable Maggie Thorson mystery from the great team of Sandra Balzo and Karen Savage.
Karen captures the characters with great voice work and brings the first person narration to life. she is the perfect voice for the lead.
for her part, Sandra Balzo has crafted yet another well paced mystery with twists and turns, wrapping everything up neatly by the end without ever making the mystery too obvious while still piling on the wit, charm and character we have come to expect from her work. I wasn't helped here by the fact I am listening out of order which made a few things obvious by what I know from future stories, but I can't hold that against the writing. the characters feel fleshed out and three dimensional and many go through well crafted and logical growths
a great story well told by writer and performer.
