_______________
Gwen, the quick-witted Princess of England, and Arthur, future lord and general gadabout, have been betrothed since birth. Unfortunately, the only thing they can agree on is that they hate each other.
When Gwen catches Art kissing a boy and Art discovers where Gwen hides her diary (complete with racy entries about Bridget Leclair, the kingdom's only female knight), they become reluctant allies. By pretending to fall for each other, their mutual protection will be assured.
But how long can they keep up the ruse? With Gwen growing closer to Bridget, and Art becoming unaccountably fond of Gabriel, Gwen's infuriatingly serious, bookish brother, the path to true love is looking far from straight …

I don't think I can keep listening to this guy
I've never written a review on here before, and I'm only on chapter 4, but the male voice actor who does Art's chapters is driving me insane. He's absolutely butchering the writing by reading like a cheery children's TV presenter even if it's supposed to be a serious or angry conversation. He puts stress on the wrong words in the sentences and doesn't pause in the right places which makes his chapters difficult to follow. I genuinely don't know if I can keep listening. It is painful. That said, I'm enjoying the story so far, and the female voice actor is absolutely fine, but like others have said: I'd suggest reading the physical copy rather than endure that narration.

Jarring narration
A fantastic story with great characters. While the narration does grow on you as the story goes on, it is very childish and distracting for a lot of the book.

Read the book instead
The voice of Arthur was overly childish, it did grow on me by the end of the story but could have very easily been read by just the lead women. The dual voices didn't add anything to the audiobook in parts it took away from the story.
The story on the other hand was sweet and adorable we need more LGBTQ+ romance books like this one.

You have got to read this!
Wow. A splendid, warm, funny tale with a spectacular climax.
Read or listen. I enjoyed the narration and thought that the characters voices were quite distinct.
Bravo Lex Croucher!

Witty and engaging but childishly read
A great story with fantastic witty characters but any dramatic or poignant moments felt trivialised by the male reader sounding like he was reading a 5 year old their bedtime story. Didn’t match the tone, shame but still a brilliant read

Terrible male narrator
I loved the story and the woman narrator is great. The male one however is awful. Puts weird stresses on sentences and is very annoying to listen to. Ended up sending back

Arthurian Style Fun
A story that was good fun with good characterisation. I like how the leads had flaws, but developed and grew and you grow to like them more as the story progresses. enjoyed the romance element, but also liked how it wasn't the only focus of the story and weaved into an entertaining surrounding plot in a well grounded world.

Read the book instead!
The story was wonderfully sweet and funny. Unfortunately, the narration wasn't great. The female narrator was decent, but the male narrator read in a very exaggerated way - like he was reading a children's book - and it was quite unbearable to listen to. I would recommend picking up a psycical copy of this book instead of listening to the audiobook.

Bad voice acting
The book was fun, and the voice actor for Gwen's chapters was fine. But the voice actor of Art's chapters was insufferable. The most bizarre intonation and the same forced kind of cheeriness for all dialogue, whether it was suited to what was being said or not. I can hardly get through those chapters.
