About this listen
The official novelization of the highly anticipated revamp of the classic horror film Halloween.
In 1978, Laurie Strode survived an encounter with Michael Myers, a masked figure who killed her friends and terrorized the town of Haddonfield, Illinois, on Halloween night. Myers was later gunned down, apprehended, and committed to Smith's Grove State Hospital.
For forty years, memories of that nightmarish ordeal have haunted Laurie and now Myers is back once again on Halloween, having escaped a routine transfer, leaving a trail of bodies in his wake. This time, Laurie is prepared with years of survival training to protect herself, her daughter Karen and her granddaughter Allyson, a teenager separated from her family and enjoying Halloween festivities.

excellent
kept me hooked from start to end. the pacing was great and the narrator did an excellent job of creating the suspense and foreboding. just as good as the movie.

Good story not so good storytelling.
I love the Halloween films so thought I’d give this a go. I enjoyed the story but it would benefit from a different narrator. The lady even mixes up the characters at one point. I had to rewind it to see if I’d heard wrong but, no.

Just boring!
I had high expectations and it was just boring. I was on about chapter 12 and wondering when the story was going to start. I would not recommend!

Very enjoyable
I really enjoyed this it captures the essence of the character or Myers!
But I do agree with other reviewers that the repeated use of The Shape doesn’t work and takes away from the tension of the story!
But the reading was very entertaining otherwise!

Halloween brilliance
I absolutely love the films, the new film was brilliant and the audiobook is perfect for a bit of tension and a Michael Myers fix.

Liked the movie? Will like the book :)
There's not much to say here about the very story as it simply is a true-to-the-source novelization. 40 years after the events from the first 'Halloween' movie, Michael Myers a.k.a. The Shape goes on a killing spree once again.
The narrator, Emily Sutton-Smith, adds incredible value to the listening experience and for Myers's fans such as myself it was a thoroughly enjoyable listen. For Halloween newcomers and horror fans alike, I think there's also some fun to be had. Enjoy! :)

wow, wow, wow!
Absolutely amazing! The suspense kept me up literally all night. I didn't go to sleep until 07:00, until I'd finished the book. Scary, violent, and a damn good read. I haven't seen the film, but seriously thinking about it now. Only thing I wish, that we'd found out exactly what happened that night 40 years ago. As soon as it came up for pre-order, I grabbed it. Couldn't wait for it to come out. We've all heard of the nutorious Michael Myres if we're horror fans, even if we haven't seen the film. This was a finished in one sitting book. I hope we get 2nd book... Brilliant! Can't rate it high enough. I love horror, and this satisfied my cravings! If you love horror, read this!

Love the film, but .....
The Night He Came Home! I was looking forward to listening to this novelization of this watchable Halloween film remake and the small sections which weren't in the film, but this is spoilt by the narrator, who sounds like she hasn't had any sleep and slowly drawls her way through reading the book. I managed up to chapter 3 then had had enough.
What could and should have been a quality purchase ended up to be boring and not worth the listening time.
