Summary

A promised rainbow—a family legacy of love endures.

Hannah Rechthart is devoted to her family, but learns at an early age that family dynamics are complicated. Jealousy over losing Amy, her confidant and oldest sister, to marriage is just the beginning. She then develops a close bond with her brother, Harry. Together, they become caught up in a world of extravagant wild parties during the pre-Depression years of Prohibition. But Hannah and Harry's relationship is forever changed when things happen—things that threaten to tear their family apart. Hannah struggles to hold the family together. She asks herself, what remains when everything else falls away?

This story is loosely based on the life of my late grandmother, a woman of immense courage, perseverance, and strength.
