Summary

Charity Basham and her crafting cohorts have decided to give back to the community. The heart-shaped pillows created during craft night at Sassy Supplies Crafts & More are on their way to patients in the breast cancer ward of Becksville's hospital for a Valentine's surprise.

But when the heartfelt mission turns into a hostage situation and at least one murder, will Charity panic under pressure?

Will she and Margo be able to find their missing friend Lola and nurse Zuri?

With power out, cells not working, and one stowaway cat underfoot, Charity has her work cut out for her.

Full of intrigue, more of Margo's odd relatives, and a dash of romance, Hearts & Hostages is a mystery to get all wrapped up in!

A book to take your heart hostage

I think this book has been my favourite in the series so far. There is a murder but no real investigation into it because it's all about staying alive during a hostage situation and I loved it. So far in the series I have been giving the books four stars because they are short novellas (the stories have been good, I just wish they were longer so you get to know the characters and suspects better before it's ended) but with this book it would be wrong to give anything less than it deserves, Five stars. It was so much fun. The reason for this is because of the situation they found themselves in, trapped in a hospital, sneaking around quietly, not knowing who to trust and with a cat no less. Loved it and off to see what the author has dreamed up next for these wonderful characters.
With valentines day fast approaching, Charity and her crafting friends decide to bring smiles to patients at the local hospital by making and giving them heart shaped pillows as presents. But things go horribly wrong when the power goes out and they go stumbling around in the dark because they are not alone. With no outside communication it's up to Charity, her stowaway cat (who just loves a mystery) and her friends to discover what is going on and keep everybody safe.
I really like the narrator and hope she sticks with the series because in my eyes she is the voice of Charity and I couldn't imagine anybody else doing it.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
