About this listen
Seventeen-year-old Ryann Carroll thought she knew who she was - a small-town Southern girl just trying to survive her parents' messy divorce and find some peace for herself. She thought she knew what she wanted - a summer job, a car, a first date that didn't suck, and no complications from a serious relationship. Any guy in her life would simply be icing on the cake.
But now, she's not only in love, but her boyfriend, Lad, is a member of an ancient race that's lived secretly among humans for thousands of years, mentioned only in flawed and fading folklore. Things could hardly get more complicated than that.
More importantly, she's learned the world's top celebrities - those actors, musicians, athletes, and politicians who seem a little too beautiful and talented to be true - actually are not human, and they're using their glamour and the increasing popularity of fan pods to control more and more humans.
But why?
With her best friend, Emmy, leaving soon to join the fan pod of a famous actor, Ryann has to find out the answer. And she can't do it alone. But after a shocking murder, Lad can no longer fight his destiny or his duty, and Ryann's not sure whether his top priority is their relationship or his people.
In this second book of the Hidden Saga, true friendship will take Ryann from rural Mississippi to the glittering city of Los Angeles. And true love will take her to places she never expected to go....

Love this second book!
I received a free audio copy of this book directly from the author for an honest review.
I thought I would miss Lad in this book but actually the development of Nox I really loved seeing a more vulnerable side. The characters continued to grow and also Ryann proved to be a little naive at times too which was nice to show in such a strong character! The description and plot continues to grow and become more interesting than ever with secrets and still a lot of answers needed. Looking forward to even more!

Fantastic!
Ryann fell for Lad then found out he was the Prince of the Light court an ancient Fae race, but after his father was murdered he walked away from Ryann to rule his kingdom breaking her heart in the process. He asks his dark Fae friend Nox to look after Ryann. But Ryann isn't keen on Nox as he's used to glamour on her when singing and she doesn't trust him. But when her best friend Emmy joins a fan pod for a top celebrity and the celebrities are dark Fae who use the girls for the own pleasure Ryann knows she has to save her friend. So Ryann decides to leave her home in Mississippi to go to Los Angeles and after Lad refuses to help her Nox offers to help. Being a famous musician in a pop group Nox is able to smuggle Ryann in as one of his girls in his fan pod. Ryann may just learn more about herself and her feelings for Lad and Nox while trying to save her friend.
As with the first book The narration was really good and believable. The story follows on from book 1 and was brilliant and kept me hooked from beginning to end. I really enjoyed it and can't wait to listen to book 3. This is a really great series. I received an audible copy of this book from the author but the opinions expressed in review are my own.
