About this listen
A personal and practical guide to homeschooling by Loose Women's Nadia Sawalha and her husband, Mark Adderley.
TV presenter Nadia and her husband, Mark, took their two children out of mainstream school five years ago. Since then they have homeschooled them. At a time when so many of us are being forced to rethink our roles as parents and teachers, Mark and Nadia bring their experiences - the good and the bad - and offer a candid and practical guide to teaching at home.
Statistics show that the number of homeschooled children in the UK has increased by 40 percent over the last three years, and the rate is steadily increasing. With humour and frankness, Nadia and Mark share the challenges and rewards of their home school experiences and ask what 'success' really means when it comes to our children's education.
Bringing their energy, enthusiasm and openness to what is becoming an ever more relevant aspect of our lives, Honey, I Home Schooled the Kids will share obstacles, insights and resources that all parents can learn from, whether they're looking for help supporting their child at school or if they have decided to take the plunge and home school.
This book is an honest and no-holds-barred guide for anyone interested in embarking on the homeschooling journey.

Absoutely super book
Real, informative, and encouraging. A balanced review of homeschooling. Funny and relatable. Much better than other homeschooling books that just sing the praises of their children- this book made me feel like my kids were normal that they don’t want to do work sometimes.

insightful
Gives an insightful look into the family and their decision to homeschool Maddie and KiKi. Homeschooling is something I have been considering for around 9 months now maybe more. I really enjoyed hearing about the way they home schooled their girls and how much this has affected them positively compared to what they were going through in school.

This book really resonated
If you're considering Home educating your kids, this is a fantastic book to start you on your journey and give you the confidence that everything will be OK. I wish I'd read this a year ago when we started home educating our daughter and when we were frightened to death and wondering if we'd made a massive mistake. I'd describe this book as a warm, family friendly self help for your nerves, and overall guide (from first hand experience and from the different view points of mum and dad) of home education, alongside some great ideas about learning opportunities. Nadia and Mark dispel some of the home school myths and stereotypes about the perception of the Home Ed community. It delivers the message that you can still continue to work and Home Ed with amazing results. They show how much a gift that Home Education has been to them as well as their kids, and how 'doable' it actually is. The only thing I'd love to have heard would have been Kiki's and Maddie's voices in this journey. Is that the next book? 'Oh no we teacherfied our parents!'

Unfortunately Dissappointed
Got this in the audible format. Really struggled with this and was really looking forward to getting it and fully expected a different take on homeschooling. Unfortunately I have come away dissappointed. I expected it to be more informative than it was. Some of it seemed rushed and didn't really gain any different insight into homeschooling. Disappointed.
Not sure why it isn't voiced by Mark and Nadia considering their digital presence generally.
