Anthropologist Jillian Ramsay's career has taken a turn south.
Concerned that technology is about to chase mythological creatures out into the open (how long can Sasquatch stay hidden from Google maps?), the League for Interspecies Cooperation is sending Jillian to Louisiana on a fact-finding mission. While the League hopes to hold on to secrecy for a little bit longer, they're preparing for the worst in terms of human reactions. They need a plan, so they look to Mystic Bayou, a tiny town hidden in the swamp where humans and supernatural residents have been living in harmony for generations. Mermaids and gator shifters swim in the bayou. Spirit bottles light the front porches after twilight. Dragons light the fires under crayfish pots.
Jillian's first assignment for the League could be her last. Mystic Bayou is wary of outsiders, and she has difficulty getting locals to talk to her. And she can't get the gruff town sheriff, Bael Boone, off of her back or out of her mind. Bael is the finest male specimen she's seen in a long time, even though he might not be human. Soon their flirtation is hotter than a dragon's breath, which Bael just might turn out to be....

Didn't expect it at all but absolutely LOVED this.
So well written, such a natural, charming style. an adult fairy tale that I just wanted to continue forever.

This was fun
I loved this, dragons, gold, romance, intrigue, suspence and a flick to the end I didn't expect. Yes!

Light and enjoyable.
Whenever I need to listen to something light and enjoyable then the Mystic Series is one of my go-to series. I haven’t had to roll my eyes in irritation yet, nor does my brain blank out as a result of weak writing anywhere, so I’m happy to recommend them. And I’m genuinely looking forward to more in this series...keep writing them and I’ll keep buying them.

a beautiful ,funny story.
This is is the first time ever I read/listened to a paranormal story.i was expecting something creepy and scary . really loved it . so funny and entertaining.

Good.
Enjoyed story. Took me a few chapters to get used to the 2 voices, but quickly got used to it. Good characters and Interested in more about the rift. Will continue with this series and the author 😊

Fantastic
Wonderful story telling, I especially loved the split between male and female narrators.
This story was a great blend of romance, suspense and humour.
I now want to live in Mystic Bayou
