About this listen

River
When I meet Bentley DeGray, I’m at the lowest point in my life because no matter how much I fight, my past won’t let me escape. Bentley makes me laugh and care and love, but what does any of that mean when I’m living a lie?

Things get complicated when I find out he’s with the Vampire Related Crimes Unit, the organization looking for answers about the abductions of prominent vampires.

The same organization that stands in my way.

My time is ticking down while I’m wound up in this role I’ve been forced to play, but I know that I would be drowning without Bentley by my side.

Bentley
We’re facing something that runs so deep that we don’t know who we can trust besides each other, even within the VRC. River makes me feel like every day is worth living and enjoying - like I’m not so alone. I can’t imagine life without him. But I know that if I want to keep him by my side, I will need to do everything I can to help him so our love doesn’t get cut short before it can truly grow.

How to Save a Human contains a cat who shows her affection by not drawing (much) blood, art projects that are a little...sketchy, the most underwhelming “bull” ride ever, and vampires that may or may not be in the mob.

Fabulous

I've read the book of How to Save a Human and loved River (I still swear that somewhere along the line he's related to Finn) and Michael Ferraiuolo really brought him to life. I nearly sobbed on several occasions as I really felt his pain. Fabulous.

Keeping it real (for fiction) as always.

Ah, DeGray, he's a keeper that's for sure.

Once again Alice Winters hits the jackpot with another VRC story. It's a must to read/listen to books 1 - 3 first.

All my favourite characters are back with their sass and snark fully engaged. The narration is awesome by Michael Ferraiuolo making it impossible to choose my favourite voice. I just love them all.

It's important to have a box of tissues because you'll laugh so hard you'll cry, but also weep uncontrollably at the painful moments too.
Lots of twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat right to the end. It's 5 stars all the way!!

Enjoyable listen

I enjoyed listening to this book. It didn’t grab me quite as much as some of this author’s other stories, but it was good.

AMAZING

Another fantastic story on the wonderful VRC universe. I love how although the book is about Bentley and River, everyone is involved. so many twists and turns and so much drama, yet so much remember and snark too.

wonderful

great story to end the series and the way this story runs along side the other three. I found the author by accident and in a week and a couple of days I have listened to all 4 books. that speaks for itself. I really recommend this series. the narrator has to win full Mark's for all the voices ( love Karsons)

Ties it all together

It is absolutely necessary to read books 1-3 first even with this spanning them all.

Enjoyable Story

The story and characters  are engaging and the narrator has very distinctive voices for each character, always a plus for me.

MC has a brain tumor, dnf, triggered.

Alice Winter's really should have mentioned in the blurb that her mc in this has a brain tumor. As someone who lost a loved one to brain cancer I didn't appreciate discovering this during listening to the book. l was so upset that I had to stop listening.
