A great outsiders perspective on Hygge
A really enjoyable listen, especially if you are slightly skeptical of new lifestyle fads. Charlotte Abrahams narration is a bit flat and initially off-putting. However as the book progressed the subject matter and the author came into their own. The soothing subject and narration became little bit of Hygge in my day.

One for slowing down serial Multi-Taskers
It’s a good book but very much a validation for relaxing journey. Some of it is anxiety inducing rather than relaxing when you hear about how Charlotte goes on her journey, it’s hard to pinpoint why it does that but it sometimes makes you feel like you don’t do enough rather than what I was seeking in the title “Hygge” which is a calming experience. However true to the Danish way it gives you moments of raw emotion so in that way it’s a good thing. Just not perhaps what I was seeking when I was looking for Hygge books. It’s a good starting point rather than I’d like me, listen to audiobooks on Hygge to unwind/ enjoy the moment.

Self indulgent drivel
The subject of this book is not Hygge; it is about the author and the publishing opportunity that attaching a Scandi word to her mid-life crisis provides.
It starts with all the warmth and engagement of a Wikipedia page.
A Wikipedia page aimed at John Lewis customers.
It then morphs into reading like a TripAdvisor review.
The author is a design journalist. She talks about how good design should be built around the user. Shame she doesn't put that into practice in her writing style, which is tired, cliched and self indulgent.

Awful English upper class view of Danish culture. Very disappointed with content and grinding English accent throughout.
