Summary

It is the 32nd millennium, and the Imperium is at peace. The Traitor Legions of Chaos are but a distant memory, and the many alien races that have long plagued mankind are held in check by the Space Marines.

When a mission to exterminate one such xenos breed on the world of Ardamantua draws in more of their forces, the Imperial Fists abandon the walls of Terra for the first time in more than a thousand years. And when another greater foe strikes, even the heroic sons of Rogal Dorn may be powerless against it. The Beast arises...and it is mighty.

Great 40k story

I'm up and down on warhammer 40,000 books. Some are fantastic, others are dull in universe lingo babble. This book gets the balance perfect. I'll be sure to get the rest in the series.

Good start to the series

interesting to see the Imperial Fists use nicknames such as slaughter and daylight, I am not sure Rogal Dorn or Sigismund would approve, also intriguing to see Orks with a warp conduit battle moon!

Excellent and very engaging.

Very enjoyable and engaging. Brilliant narration. Left me wanting more, the story itself draws you in and makes you feel part of narrative.

Not bad.

The story feels like it's coming from a parallel universe of 40K with how they tell things but it seems to be going to interesting places at least. Narration is abit rough in places.

The start

It's the start of something big. At the point that you think it is starting to roll, it's done.

Maybe you have to look at it as a hole.

So let's start book 2

Dan does it again....

....slow to start but has me hooked. I will have to read the rest of the series now. Narrator as always was great, well worth a credit and nice to see something from the 32nd era of the Warhammer universe.
