Summary

How do I give myself to God completely? What happens when I do?

This is a book for everyone who has ever asked these questions.

I Dared to Call Him Father is the fascinating true story of Bilquis Sheikh, a prominent Muslim woman in Pakistan who faced these questions at the crossroads of her life and found the astonishing answers. Her unusual journey to a personal relationship with God turned her world upside down - and put her life in danger - as a series of strange dreams launched her on a quest that would forever consume her heart, mind, and soul.

Originally published in 1978, the book has sold 300,000 copies and is a classic in Muslim evangelism.

Bilquis Sheikh came from a family in Pakistan that held government power for seven hundred years. She was also the wife of a high ranking government official in Pakistan. She gave her life to Jesus Christ in 1966. In 1972, sponsored by Samaritan’s Purse, she resettled in the United States, where she spoke widely and shared her faith with many. Years later she returned to Pakistan, where she died in 1997. She was given a Christian funeral.

Critic reviews

I Dared to Call Him Father is a fascinating autobiography that challenged me in my walk with God. How many of us would be true to our faith if we knew that embracing Christianity could be our death sentence?” (Mary Ann Littrell, Christian Librarian)

An amazing listen

I love every minute listening to this book (testimony). God is indeed mindful of us. He's got personal plans and very unique ways of life with all of us as individuals.

I also love the bit when the writer acknowledges God's great sense of humour.

I love God. A very great ABBA 👍

Such a powerful account of God moving without human intervention in what looks like an impossible circumstance.

I was deeply moved to tears by this beautiful, honest and powerful account of one Muslim woman’s journey in seeking out the truth of who God is, as He began speaking to her! What childlike and pure faith and love and trust! Oh how many of us can learn so much from such simple yet effective faith! I have to buy the paperback to go back to it again and again throughout my journey with God!

Remarkable story of how Jesus can save Muslims

A wonderful window into the word of Islam and how Jesus can break though into an anti Christian culture

Fabulous book!

As a cradle catholic I was in awe of her simple yet profound faith and obedience. Loved hearing about her idyllic life in Pakistan sand enjoyed the almost lyrical language and story telling. Beautiful and moving story and highly recommend to anyone including those who doubt God or the super natural

A Gripping Testimony

Bilquis Sheikh's testimony gripped me from the start. Her testimony rings true, the Holy Spirit was clearly speaking to her. To my surprise and delight, the Holy Spirit spoke to me through her testimony. Praise God, who can do anything He chooses, and who longs to bring all of His children into an eternal relationship with Him.
